Dreams are meaningless. If you die in your dreams it does NOT mean you will die in real life. You CANNOT dream the future. Certain foods you dream about do NOT mean your happy, sad, lonely etc. Why can we all just grow up and leave fantasy behind? Reality is the only true thing that exists. Because when you wake up it's still like: "FUCK! I am late for work!" and your dreams about picking grapes in a spaceship is just bullshit.
I'm not going to blather out some illogical statement like "Like, freedom of belief, man." and "Don't like, down our imagination, bro.", but i do have to disagree with you're narrow minded conclusions. Every animal with the mental capacity capable of making a choice can dream in an unconscious state. Some more complexly than others. Wile the body is at rest and the brain is unconscious, your mind takes it's chance to sort through and analyze information. While that goes on, you're subconscious sends signals to you're awareness. Fabrications created by your subconscious mind.Though, it may be hard for someone like you to understand, but because of the fact that all the information in a dream comes form your subconscious mind, any object or occurrence that you see in a dream is a representation of your current mental state. Possibly even more about yourself can be learned in your dreams. I DO, however, agree with you that it is much too far-fetched to assume that people can contact the future or anything along those lines through dreams. Until its proven that dreams can some how touch the paranormal, i'll stick with my theory that they're just signals of information sent from the deeper confines of cognitive storage.
I actually agree with the last two paragraphs completely. But your mocking of me was horrendous. Actually, comparing my last post to some stereotypical hippie/stoner phrases that you made up is kind of illogical
i think there are more to dreams than you realize... however, in a busy lifestyle it is easier to set things like dreams aside, and focus more on what is really taking place. i think, essentially, it depends on how spiritual of a person you are, to be able to contemplate the meaning of our dreams. its hard enough for me to remember my own dreams, so i dont really try to interpret them. however there are subconsious levels in our minds and many things even knowledgable researchers dont know about the capabilities and extensiveness of the human brain. i think theres far more to consider before dismissing it altogether. if dream interpretations just arent you're thing, alright great don't worry about it. that doesnt mean you have to try to insult everyone who DOES see the capabilities of dreams..
sorry, i wasn't really reffering to anybody in particular when i said it. I was just opening my opinion with how i should be viewed. Actually, i hadn't even realized your post was there untill after i posted and saw yours and royalstar's posts above it mine.
I'm not going to try and argue with you, but the fact is what you just said makes me sad, it makes me sad because people don't believe in what dreams can really do. But that's what you think, so okay!
It's as much a fantasy of what you make of being awake, apart from your judgements. In that sense, it's as much a part of how you feel from day to day as something as simple as working for a living. It's called perception, one uses it during the day.
So not not true dude. I have plenty of dreams where i come to self realizations or I dream something and it happens later on in the future. Dreams are important, they are'nt there for no reason
and the purpose of being human without imagination is? yes i halfway aggree, entirely actually with over expectation of their HAVING to "mean" anything. but even the most trivial randomisation of stored imagery serves the VERY useful and neccessary purpose of allowing the mind to heal itself to take on another day. certainly nothing HAS to ANYthing. not even this internet. yet it does exist. and existing becomes part of that infinite diversity that IS "reality". dreams aren't all anyone thing. nor do they need to be. and everything that appears in anyone's dream DOESN'T always, or perhapse even all that often, mean the same thing when it appears in someone else's. nor does it need to. but we DO, all of us, have dreams, that sooner or later we find ourselves in a place or situation that we recognize, often without realizing it, because of having previously dremt something similar. seldom is this of any real usefulness, but it is one of the many REAL things connected with dreams that DO happen. yes, whatever we see or do in them, is NOT in THIS word/universe/reality. but do we really KNOW that what we dream takes place only in OUR OWN heads? i don't think so. there is no CAN'T be, someplace else, in some parallel universe, or perhapse psionic equivelant of this internet. pretending to KNOW that something CAN'T be is no different then pretending to know anything else that is NOT known. =^^= .../\...
