About a year ago, my fiance called the cops on this guy who was driving in front of him that was driving like a maniac-in and out of lanes, pushing 90mph.

His brother and his mother told him it was wrong to do that. That he should have let the cops find the guy on their own. It was 2am when Kevin saw the guy and there aren't any cops on back roads, especially at that time.

do you think this is wrong? I'm glad he did it. I'm against driving drunk...only because I lost a good friend to a drunk driver..and because it isn't that hard to find a DD

I wouldn't call every time someone pissed me off in traffic, but yeah I think he did the right thing in that situation. I mean the guy was being obviously reckless. So many precious lives are ended because idiots don't take the responsibility of driving a vehicle seriously!

Good Lord... that sounded like my Mom... yikes

    THIS HAPPENED A YEAR AGO

it doesn't matter anymore. Reporting people is usually written off as an ethical law, but it's your choice.

Well, I say this because he is in court today.

This is his 4th time in court because it's the guys 4th offense. 2nd without a license.

    It's still a big deal

In that case ... so long as they castrate him and all of his children to keep an obvious moron from staying in the gene pool, then I'm happy.

I was stuck behind an obviously drunk driver on the interstate a year or so ago. I would have called the cops on him had my phone held a charge at the time. I also don't think other people should call the cops in these situations, because I feel that everyone else has poor judgment, and I don't want morons calling the cops on me if I happen to be speeding or something.

usually, at least, in my experience, its quite easy to tell if the person is drunk or not

I almost called the cops on a guy I was behind that drove for about a mile on the curb...as I was about to do it, a cop whip past me and pulled him over...someone beat me to it.

The guy my boyfriend was following, though, was HAMMERED. He fell outta his car when the cop asked him to get out. I think even if he wasn't drunk, better to be safe than sorry if someone is driving all over the road, in and out of his lane, and on the curb.

It's absolutely right to call the cops. Suppose you didn't and the guy got in or caused a wreck before the cops found him on their own? If everyone took more responsibility, like your bf did, it might be a better world.

I feel the need to reiterate... CALL THE COPS ON THESE ASSHOLES!!!!!

I consider myself a fairly safe driver... I have my occasional bout trying to push the gas pedal through the firewall... but outside of those open highway instances, i drive like an old lady.

Every intersection, every parking lot, all it takes is some crazy drunk fool to kill me... I don't exactly drive a suburban, if I get hit with anything bigger than a focus, its gonna hurt bad! Everyone knows someone that died from drunk driving... A: just dont do it!!!!! B: if you can do anything to stop someone from doing it, please do!!! I'll send you a card ;)

    Hell yes.

Of course he should have done it. It's a very good thing. Hopefully get the point through to at least one more person of how serious it is.

I lost my high school sweetheart to a drunken diver.

I called the cops on a guy ahead of me before who was winding in and out of lanes... going off the side of the road.... stopping in the middle of the road... the person was plainly gonna cause an accident so I didnt feel bad.

    You people are fucking fascists!

I don't know many people that won't drive drunk. Shit, would you call the cops on your uncle after christmas dinner when he needs to get the kids home?

Yeah... whatever. I'm talking about someone that was driving in a way that they were going to kill someone. If someone is swerving around a little bit ...whatever- but if someone is stopped and swerving into the other lane while speeding on windey roads.... hell yeah I'm gonna call the cops. I'd rather save a life then care about some dumbass who has to get that drunk and get behind the wheel.
