CD Collection - Questions

I have over 700 CDs. The collection is starting to take up a little more space than is manageable (according to my wife). Couple questions:

1) Does anyone still buy CDs? If so what is your percentage of CDs vs. legal digital downloads?

2) What is the average collection out there?

3) Do you guys catalog your CDs with some software? If so, what would you recommend?

 

I had 600 cds. I reduced them to 200 cdrs of just the songs I wanted to keep, made my own "Best Of" albums that fit in two shoe boxes in paper sleves. Then I sold the originals. Today a lap top can hold 10,000 songs so you could go that route.

 

I used to catalog in Excel, but I grew tired of it. I lost some cd's i borrowed to people though..

 

i still buy cd's.i have a collection of 1500 cd's and lp's. i don't know where to start to catalog them. No downloads.
