I wouldn't say just blow it in their face cuz THC doesn't get absorbed through their eye balls or facial hair... Blow it at their nose gently and they will inhale the smoke as they breath in.

    Your completely right man...

yea when my dog trys to take hits off a joint he slobbers all over it, so i have him just spark up a pipe everynow and then. its so hard to teach him how to spark a lighter but once they get it down its real fun to smoke with your dog...
the only thing i dont like is how he ganks my lighters now and denys it up and down till i find them. but that just means i gotta hide them better. i hooked him up with my dealer now so he doesnt have to keep going through me anymore. he is starting to be a pot dog haha.
i think next week im going to have him try shrooms and see how he likes it.
my dogs kinda shady with his weed but at least on my birthday he rolled a nice fat blunt for me so its alright.
i just wanted to tell u that u were right, dogs dont know how to take hits off joints, they get them all slobbery, they should stick to pipes.
    peace

    Don't get animals stoned.

The only exception to this rule is one time me and my friends found this kitten that was near death, it couldn't even hold its head up. We got it stoned (iguess) we blew a lot of smoke in its face and hot boxed the little room. All of a sudden it got up and ate and ate and ate for a long ass time then it laid down and went to sleep, later that night it played with us for a long time, last I heard it was doing great.

So if the animal needs to eat then I guess go for it, idk

Yes, dogs and cats can get high. That being said, I would never blow smoke in my pet's faces, but I would let them feel free to be in the same room and pick up a contact, which I know is enough to get em high. My reason is because this kid I used to know had his dog die after he and a bunch of his friends decided to get him high. I think it was shock or something related that killed him. If you put a bit of thought into it, you'll see it's not farfetched. Really not worth the chance IMO. Like I said, stick to letting them pick up a good contact and they'll probably be just as fun.

But now, the reason I REALLY decided to make this my first post on the forums:

    lol!

Well, at first anyway. I found this pretty interesting so I checked it out a bit. <3 teh internetz. Unfortunately theknot535904, it's not quite as you say. Regarding dogs and tomatoes:

"Tomatoes (plant and fruit) contain tomatine, an alkaloid related to solanine. As the fruit ripens, the tomatine is metabolized. Therefore, ripe tomatoes are less likely to be problematic for animals. Clinical signs of poisoning include lethargy, drooling, difficulty breathing, colic, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, widely-dilated pupils, paralysis, cardiac effects, central nervous system signs (e.g., ataxia, muscle weakness, tremors, seizures), resulting from cholinesterase inhibition, coma and death. (This information comes from veterinarians, and the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center.)"

And while not a serious issue like the dog thing, the birds aren't getting high, they're getting drunk!

"Birds have actually been known to get drunk on overripe, fermented wild berries. It is not unusual for waxwings, for example, to get smashed on fermented rowanberries; and crash into cars on the road, and ducks can get so drunk on overripe mulberries; that they cannot fly."

Blow it in the dogs ear while running them so it isn't frightful the first few times. They'll begin to love it...

I read an article in the Nov. 07 or Dec. 07 issue of High Times about getting your pet stoned. It read that you pretty much shouldn't do it, but if you're gonna, do it in low doses because it only takes a dog about half of what gets a human stoned.

    I know they can, but I don't really see the point;

    1. 90% of thc is absorbed once the smoke hits the back of your mouth/lungs, taking a hit then blowing it out, there wouldn't be much thc in the first place
    2. how is the dog going to inhale the smoke if you blow it into its face, the dog will probably just turn its head or sniff in a fraction of the smoke
    3. The dog will probably be just as 'high' as if you just ran him, just more relaxed

I know you can get a dog drunk, but I don't like the idea of that, I'd feel bad about it

Maybe you could hotbox a room with your dog in it, that is the way I see it working the best
