I probably in the minority here. -But Ive always found something abit freaky or unsettling about nature. My- view is that we "were given" or have abilities to change our environment , so I find the timelessness of nature a bit unsettling in some ways. ( in the same way as I find the Grand Canyon's immense age a bit freaky - in that it makes a 70 year lifespan almost meaningless in a way). I mean nature is "the law of the jungle" , animals eating each other alive , famine , suffering ,death and all that shit. In nature , we live and die fairly quickly ( even tho trees live thousands of years more than us - I mean WHYYYY!!!! LOL) We can fly and cure disease ,maybe one day become immortal or travel through time , but life is really what we make it - and Id hate to be living in a cave or something - supposedly "as nature intended"- I admit theres -a good side to nature - fresh air , wholesome food ( instead of processed of genetically modified rubbish etc). But I think theres a "bad" side. There again , is "nature" also about televisions ,aeroplanes and inventions etc?? Fuck knows
iffin ya ask me ,, you have it all backasswards, nature is the most trustworthy thing there is ,, the humans and all the bullshit are the untrustworthy and whom i feel the most uncomfortable with,,,, nature attempts to fix what the humans have done,,,, n when they dont listen.... she growls loudly,,, ... too many people share your point of view and think we need to alter nature no wonder you find her as you do,,,,
Nature is soothing to me. When I am in the mountains, I can really relax and let the stress drain away. I find the city jarring to all of my senses and I immediately tense up. Unfortunately I live in town now b/c of work, and I long for the mountains on a visceral level.
The unpredictable aspects of nature (such as a big storm, a new species, and some animal behavior) are what make it incredibly beautiful. It's why I love to go hiking and exploring new things. The world we create in our minuscule homes is too mundane.
how is nature about any of those , etc???? do you actually think all those things enhance nature??? i look at all them as interfering with it ,, not seen any invention yet that makes nature better only endangers it
Nature is your source, it is the essence of your physical body, it is what you are born out of and die into. To go against nature is to fight yourself. Nature, when so called 'disasters' occur, does not take names, and it is not in response to something we have done (in massive disasters I mean, not something personal and rediculous), it is just the way She works.
Hmmm , I thought Id be in the minority . What I mean is , nature can feel very overbearing , overpowering , making people feel insignificant /unimportant in relation to its vastness and vast age. I think thats lots bad thats man made - pollution , warped science like GM crops , destruction etc etc. But some people think nature is just "things happening" - like plants growing , animals killing , life and dying. We're actually very powerless , maybe insignificant against nature. Sure we can do good , bad or indifferent. But at our best arent we just like a beaver building its dam - just that what we build *can* ( but not always) is something to marvel at - as an extension of nature. ie like an aeroplane or glider. If we didn't use our free will and abilities , wouldnt we just be a bit meaninglesssomething to be eaten by other animals? I just think , isnt the idea of nature for animals to progress - ?To maybe one day become masters of nature - but respecting its best principles at the same time?
But to desire power of nature, is to go against nature, and you ARE a product of nature, this obviously leads to disharmony, which leads to negativity, which can lead to many unwelcoming things. And how exactly can man overpower nature?! Can you manipulate the gravitational pull of the Sun? Can you rearrange the cosmos? Can you create life out of nothing, being that you need products of nature in order to 'create'. Its not going to happen man, and any further attempts to do so is taking us away from what we are.
I agree with you that we should continue to progress scientifically and technologically. We just need to learn to be more responsible with it and change the things that hurt nature. However, humans will never master nature and would be foolish to try.
right, since we kind of are insignificant and unimportant. why do you feel the need to be a seminal part of the universe? we're just another thread in the fabric, no one thread more or less important than another. haha, NO. neither of these are possible, and if they were I'm sure humanity would be extinct long before attaining these overhyped holy grails.
