Why be a Dick?

I have noticed reading threw alot of posts by people and in some circumstances myself that some people on these forums, (not really pointing fingers but it seems like mostly forum members who have been here awhile,) seem to be completly destructive and somewhat offensive when they critsize or disagree with other forumers....
Why is this people? Everyone at one time or another will disagree with you.. If someone disagrees with you and it gets you that wound up how hard is it for you to just click on the next thread and be done with it. There is no reason to be a dick at all.... Share the Love , Share the hugs, Share your opinion but not your frustration! *SMILE*

i agree with you... Some of these things can really put people and their self esteem/respect down.

 

probably because its easy and everyone seems to think that they are *just a little bit* better than the rest of us, and completely sure that they know more about something or other, than someone else out there.

 

Folks that's been 'round a while sort of know eachother and if so and so gets a little froggy, we just say," oh, so and so must be having a particularly bad day, he's an old grouch anyhow". It ain't no biggie.

But SOME folks hit the forums with an attitude. Want to disrupt, feel some kind of sick power. Real folks with issues and problems. You can count on it. And it's impossible to ignore.

Some of 'em are evil as heck. FBI,CIA,Homeland Security. Some of 'em are Trolling for recruits for some cult or cause that's less than above board.

To deal with the REAL wacko's, we NEED folks who can call their bluff and bring their real natures and agendas into the light, so they can't do any harm to other more naive folks...

It's REAL weird getting so personal with strangers, there needs to be a whole new set of manners and standards. There's always gonna be some a--hole to hijack a thread and try to get all the attention, no matter how negative. Lot better to put folks in their place from the safety of computer than get right in someone's face who might be totally whacked.... And for those TOTAL scumbags, maybe if ENOUGH folks set 'em straight, they'll learn something.

Peace and Love are where it's at, but sometimes it just ain't all that loving to let somebody get away with their stuff over and over again.

 

People are verbal dicks here because the people are too far away to hit.

Maybe it's stress relief.

I for one have to be patient, kind, supportive and open all day long, and at the end of it I need somewhere to put all that negative energy.

If that's how you feel, I honestly wonder why you're at a forum like this. Don't get me wrong, it's fine with me.. different people, different opinions, that's what this world is all about.. but I guess I thought the common denominator of "hippies" or the people that post here was that we all are at least trying to be accepting and open minded. I just wonder what would compel you to post here and bring the atmosphere down so much.

and it does put people down. Insults are still insults... If you've never been insulted then good for you and if you dont get hurt by it then even better but words are still words wherever they are...

Just don't let it get to be a habit! You know, those old fogies who sit around complaining all the time about every little thing and can't think of anything else to say. Some folks get SO in the habit of complaining and finding fault they turn into crotchety old unpleasant people who no one wants to be around with nasty looking frown wrinkles that don't go away!

 

Insults only hurt if you let them hurt you.
