Hi, I have this old cabinet that I gutted out at my house. It's dimensions are 3 ft. 2 in. wide by 1 ft. 4in. deep and around 5ft tall. I was thinking about going with an air-cooled 400 watt MH to HPS lamp, but a buddy of mine thinks it will be too big. He thinks that a 250watt will do the job, but I'm a little unsure at this point. Does anyone have any advice on this matter? Also, I was thinking about having around five or six plants in there, but he thinks that it will only hold around 2 or 3. I plan to flower the plants in this cabinet so I want to make sure they have enough space the whole time. Also, which growing method do you all think would be best SoG, SCRoG, or another? Again, any advice here would be great! I'm probably going to have some kind of hydro system, as I am sick of dealing with soil and the mess it inevitably creates. I know I have a lot of questions, but if anyone could help clear all this up I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks
400 is good size, that way you get light penitrating through the top layer. Depending on your strain I would go with a scrog type set up, but mabey let the plants get a little taller than in a trad. scrog. At only 1'4" deep I think you wnt 3 or 4 plants in a straight line. Alot depends on what you're gowing out, Something heavy on the indica end of things would work well.
