oddly today was 55 degrees, battleship gray sky, and steady hard rain

It's average-ish heat today. About 30 dc give or take.

But I'm still wearing my wool gloves with the cut out finger bits. Coz I'm a trend setter.

 

it got pretty chilly arround here the last couple of days too. but nothing compared to that time i was driving across utah on highway 50 from nevada and saw 18 ravens with their little tootsies FROZEN to the telephone wire. the kept trying to take off but the ice wouldn't let go of their feet.

sub zero temperatures are not uncommon in boca california and nearby truckee and donner summit. the later two places i have lived for two or more years at a time.

boca is between truckee california and reno nevada, between truckee and farad even, let alone verdi. it's a spot in the truckee river where the angle of the sun in the winter time never penitrates down into the canion, making it one of the colder winter locations in the u.s.

of course most people have never heard of the place. even people who drive by on the freeway all the time might not know it's there. or that it once boasted a brewry and in pre-refregeration days, an ice cutting industry.

In California...getting colder. NO snow...but we are spoiled with sun here and cry over 60 degrees. I have 2 sweaters on. aaaah.

 

It's cold here today, yesterday it was in the 50's and raining...
I don't mind the cold so much just as long as the sun is out..
