I made a list of things I need to change about myself, that I feel have created waste, anger, and even some grief unnesesarily. Suddenly I realised that If I decide to change those habits and replace them by better ones, I could save myself a lot of loss and pain.

What would be your list of character traits that have caused you grief (when you examine them truthfully) that you wish to change from negative to positive?
Or simply what traits are you going to try to develop, so that 2008 will be far more rewarding that 2007 has been so far?

I've been working on my negative traits for a couple decades now and have come to the realization that much of it is hard wired. My worst facet is my stubborn, quick temper and the best I can do there is just avoid people and situations that trigger it.

Your reactions are just that, reactions. They can most definitely be controlled.

You have to re-wire the way your brain thinks, its not impossible... although I can't speak with the experience of age, I tune mine up constantly... perhaps that is the key, persistence?

Or, accept who you are and live with it :)

    werd.

"I am not now what I was yesterday, and I will not be tomorrow what I am now"

I'm stealin that from somewhere, I can't remember who... but werd to whoever said that too ;)

The goal is to always be at your peak, never allow problems to develop... its possible, and not difficult.

There are things that lead me to differ with your assessment but we shall agree to disagree... I've been obsessed with rewiring for a couple decades and have come to the conclusion that while it may not be impossible it's likely beyond my capabilities. Good for you that you can tune up your brain but I feel I have satisfied the persistence condition.
