Didnt see any posts about it, so i thought i would just bring attention to Jeff Wayne's 'War of the Worlds' album, and see what people rate it out of ten? 9.9999999reccurring/10
An excellent album. I bought this on vinyl when it first came out. Richard Burton doing the narration is fantastic, as is all the musicians, Justin Hayward, Phil Lynott, Chris Spedding, David Essex, etc. all fine musicians. I now have this on cd, and a cherished cd it is.
I love it. And yes! Richard Burtons wonderful rich english voice really completed the album. Did you know Phil Lynott plays the parson too?
Yes, his name was Nathaniel. I love his bit with Julie Covington. The two really perked up the second part of the album/disc/show.
Deffinatly! That song you are refering you; the dialogue between the two, is a fanstastic song. That along with the artillary man's song about building a new world underground make the second half near-perfect! Also when i first listened to the part where nathaniels name is called out by the woman, I was pretty stoned, and trying to get to sleep, But my name is Nathaniel too. So i got really damned confused and thought someone was calling me hehe.
Jeff Wayne took it on tour Last year and I went to see it in Brighton, it was Awesome! I saw a tripod! lol
