That is hard my top 5 Fusion space rock (gong really hit it on the head with their space fusion for their trilogy) krautrock post rock I guess Canterbury..though prog folk is close and as a side note, art rock is more varied than some give it credit for is it just me, or is late 70s symphonic rock typically really cheesy? I dunno, I just cringe when I am on progarchives and come across a page for a late 70s symph band..something just seems boring about it. I think its a genre that was interesting in the late 60s when is started and had a glorious prime for a few years in the early 70s but really went south by '74 and is a genre that seems to spawn many copy cats, like no other. I like symph rock, from a certian time, but usually cut my searches to before 74/75 unless it is said to be really good (I make exceptions) or if it is prog from a country that isn't normally thought of i regards to rock ( a little Turkmenistan fusion from the 70s is REAL interesting)
Im not going to vote, mainly becuase Prog Rock is hard enough to classify as it is, It never crossed my mind to SUB-categorise it. :S Ah well. Lets say if Ian Anderson met with Bill Bruford, Dave Gilmour, Geddy Lee, John Lord and Robert Fripp, that would be my favourite kind
Psychedelic/Space rock all the way, baby! Although I see space rock as a subgenre of psychedelic rock and don't see psychedelic rock as a subgenre of progressive rock. Art rock is quite a useless name I think, I already disliked the name before I knew for what kind of bands it was used for, but now I see most of those are already and better defined in other genres  Experimental/Post-Rock is my least favourite. I rarely dig bands that are called that or call themselves that way.
I really love all the prog that came from italy in the 70's, PFM, Banco, Le Orme just to name a few, I also like the soft canterbury scene, and of course the so called Space prog, damn I love that. it depends on the mood of the day, sometimes I want sometging really odd, but maybe the next day you can see me lisening to the traveling wilburys or thin Lizzy, those bands are far away from the prog, but, its a matter of mood. Prog rock rules..
Where is ''Exreme prog'' or most comonly known as ''prog metal''. Bands ranging from opeth to Between the buried and me.
