No, I don't think that's what he calls procreation. As I understand it, the doctrine has to do with Mary being born without original sin that you and I inherited from Adam and Eve, an idea that I'm sure will also strike you as hilarious.
"Sin" is not procreation, and vice versa. I am not really sure what I think about the doctrine of perpetual virginity. I don't think it is all that essential. Why does the doctrine deserve laughter. Yes, from an athiestic standpoint, or even from a Prodestant standpoint it can deserve laughter, but is there anything more or less funny than any doctrine? Every religion has some aspects of ridiculousness to it.
Okiefreak: And what is original sin Okie? Hryhorii: You're right! So what is it? And what really, explicitly, is 'immaculate conception' supposed to mean? Or is that the point, we're not supposed to know? Why did you reply to my post then? How do you honestly think Jesus was conceived and born? Because it is laughable. From any intelligent standpoint it is worthy of laughter. No kidding. I find all of them pitiable. It is lucky for me that I can still laugh at them.
Immaculate means "clean" if you want to use a dictionary. In the Roman Catholic sense it means "free from sin". So she was conceived free from sin. Miracously... By the by, it was nice attempting to have an intelligent discussion with you, but I see it has failed. Have a nice day.
Joseph was a chump. imagine some chick trying to feed you that story. that's the laughable part of this tale.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT what is a VIRUS? it is a simple cell, incapable of reproducing itself independantly, containing only the necessary components to allow it to enter another cell and spawn its own DNA with the metabolic resources of the host cell. the host cell then may release more virus, or simply continue to reproduce the viral DNA until another generation of cells spawns the virus. need a hint? this is what SPERM is.
Sperm enters the egg and forces the egg to reproduce its DNA. the organism may then produce more Sperm (male), or alternatively retain the DNA held in the Sperm until a point where the resources are available to produce more sperm. (female waiting for a sperm with a Y chromasome)
