hey i used to live in santa cruz, moved down to socal with family. thinking about moving back up there after i graduate and to go to college there.
cool. i don't see how your family could have left this place. i love it and i'm trying to do all i can to stay!
It's great here for the most part. It can get a bit boring at times, but so can anything. I'm not at the UC. I was at Cabrillo, but it got old (I went to high school there as well). Right now, I'm trying to figure out what I want to do before I spend money I don't have =/
I went on holiday to San Francisco, Yosemite and Santa Cruz over the summer.... was great fun. (my dad won the trip to Yosemite). Anyway Santa Cruz was fun.... I liked the vibe. Stayed in Bonnie Doon. Just liked to say I like Santa Cruz- tis a nice town, with a really nice veggie Indian/ Sri Lankan (i think) resturant (cant remeber name) makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Also... what gives with the mystery spot?
I grew up in San Jose in the 60 and 70's, and used to go to Santa Cruz every weekend to either fish from the pier, or go on the Mighty Mouse rollercoaster on the boardwalk. I also liked it in the mountains above Santa Cruz, the Roaring Camp Railroad. They used to have big bbq's on the weekends. Still remember going to Felton once as well and seeing the smallest bowling alley I ever saw, think it was 5 lanes or so. There was also the Cloud 9 lodge on the Highway 17 summit, a good place to eat. But actually, the thing I remember the most was Highway 9, a fun highway to drive, and I remember the year when they installed some crazy speed limit signs on that highway, such as 13 mph around one corner, 17 mph around another corner, etc. Wonder if they still have those wacky signs.
