Hey all, I'm a bearer of mysterious news. I just went and saw and old time friend of mine and enjoyed myself immensely. When I returned to my home, I went to unlock my door and saw a praying mantis right above the doorknob staring at me. Does this represent something? The last time I saw a praying mantis I went through a period of great happiness for a long time, unrelated?

And its true! I just had the greatest day in ages! I feel so light and energetic now this is stupendous haha. I was going through some rough times for the last couple of months as well, but everything is finally done! My mind is clear, except for two issues which should be solved shortly. One trying to get an old friend to be my buddy again and two getting a car/getting out of high school. But now I feel really strong, confident, and connected with people in a way I haven't for over a year. I think I finally extinguished my old awkward self and now I've become a leader!

I just looked at the social scene at school, and it appears that since coming into high school as a close to friendless nerd worried about fitting in I have become a confident, strong minded leader that could care less about any single person or group of people in the high school. All of a sudden people are flocking to me, and I wasn't used to this so I retreated from it, withdrawing into isolation unconsciously breaking bonds with all of my friends. Ever since tripping on acid twice, shrooms twice, salvia many times, and DXM about five times I have discovered so much about my identity and how to behave in a social situation in order to be on top. I couldn't understand why I was awkward socially until I tripped on shrooms the first time at PFF. This first made me look at myself and say, why do I do that? I discovered I had developed bad conversation skills, and a couple wierd almost tics with my hands that made me look nervous by constantly moving around. Now I look at the social scene in a new light. I realized that I am more intelligent than 99.9% of the fools out there (not trying to come off as arrogant, ask anyone I know), I am playing lovely bass in a southern rock/ acid rock band and everyone loves the music, and I have become very creative and confident as well. Somehow I manage to take control in social scenes completely by accident just by not wanting to talk, and when I do talk I normally just say random funny shit. I only have real conversations with those who I believe are intelligent enough to understand or add to.

Embracing unpredictability and spontaneous as the true sources of feeling alive. i have found happiness just by doing whatever I want to, and in a flowing nonchalant manner. Music, art, comedy, constructing, tight friendships are all art forms that benefit from being spontaneous and unpredictable. And to be these to things, you must be able to believe in yourself enough. To be good at an art you have to be willing to act boldly, regardless of what anyone thinks of you. This means that you WILL make art in whatever form, that it a complete failure, and everyone WILL look down at you, but you have to learn to not care and focus on the next artistic activity. When you do produce your next art, it will be something that you put your all into, because you weren't nervous of being laughed or scoffed at. The most unique and creative art is a result of this. Look at Picasso, look at the Grateful Dead, look at any founding religious figure, look at the Dead Kennedys, and Chris McCandless, Thoureau, Leary, Steven Colbert, Dr. Canavan, Mr. Kolev, and so many many others. All of these people were complete independent of the social scene and were complete individuals. They new who they were, believed in themselves, and achieved. I now believe I have learned enough to start becoming one of them. I hope to become a modern day shaman-istic type figure. Living on my own, no or little money, and live of the land/ lowpaying jobs that are good hard work. No easy but boring desk job, no easy but boring suburban household, no fucking reliance on the dollar bill to be my main focus in life.

I am myself and no one else. The mantis has revealed this to me and now I am done giving my mind at the moment, sorry for the length. Please a raise of hands from the individuals? (Don't lie, it just makes you look even more like a sheep) I love all the people that respond earnestly, you have discovered the right way to live. Keep on rocking I'm going to sleep!

The last time I saw a mantis, it tried to destroy my finger. I don't mean it just struck at me, it clamped on and took a few bites. It broke the skin in a few places.

I need to find more of those little guys.

Yeah the praying mantis is wonderful, I've changed since I saw that creature. The last symbolic thing that happened to me was I had a fantastic dream where I was an eagle for a short period of time and then I was back in my body and I learned how to fly. There's a thread about it in the dream section if you're interested. Symbols are everywhere, you just have to keep your eyes open for them.

Nah I've seen em before. You really don't need to get all pissy and everything, I'll believe what I want, and you'll believe what everybody else does.

Hahaha I laugh at you. Why do you feel the need to get angry little sheep? Go join the herd and leave me to my own devices.

I actually did a lot of reading on the symbolism of the praying mantis and cultures across the world regard it very highly.

    Thanks for the laugh!
