Saturday Worship The Temple doors opened And the congregation came in. With due deference They wiped their feet first. In a fit of ecstasy A girl forgot her donation But the Temple guards settled her With starry helmets. A man fell to his knees, Overcome. A cleric ministered to him And renewed his Faith. The children were all wonder Filled with magic to the brim. They were eyes Only eyes. A worshiper grew a daze, Unsure of the true path. With kindness Another showed the way. The angelus rang And faces turned shadows. Some left in sorrow, Others coveted sacred gifts.
