Of course making things is good... but I just signed up for three books clubs and am getting 14 hardcover books in the mail for about 30 bucks (mostly shipping and handling).... might sign up for a dvd or cd club too. There, all my gifts are taken care of super cheap. :D

All types- got some new hardcover mysteries for the people who like them... cook books for some people, a book about 2012 for a relative who's interested in that, a book about Buddism for someone who's into that, a stretching anatomy book for someone who's into excercise..... different stuff. :)

aren't you gonna have to buy like a gazillion books, dvd's & cd's within the next year or so to meet the requirements of the clubs?

well, they charge you for the minimum purchases anyways, add on a bunch of fees and interest, report it to the credit reporting agencies as a bad debt...and collection agencies harass you.

No one really....except for maybe someone I find special. My family dont like to do presents since we are doing a family cruise, but I think I will still get funky little things for them, like from the friendly stranger etc. Something cool.

Okay... there are all kinds of book clubs like the Literary Guild, The Mystery Guild, doubleday, One Spirit... I'm not sure if they are just in the US though....

Oh and yeah, you do have to buy things but the way I see it is... I got all my Christmas shopping done super cheap plus got myself a few books.... I don't have to buy that much... for example, one of the clubs I have to buy one book in the next two years. Another one I have to buy two books in the next two years... those places have books between 6 and 10 dollars and I buy books anyways so it's no big deal.

Oh and I have to buy gifts for 13 people.... all family members, and my best friend.

    Nice.
Next time you're in there get Blunt vanilla papers, not blunt wraps like the fucking cigar papers, but blunt brand rolling papers, and open the pack to make sure they are the right tan colour and not yellow. Don't buy the yellow. No doubt the easiest roll in the world and a great smoke.

I haven't been in to Friendly Stranger in a while. I know a lad in Elmira that blows glass. He does some amazing stuff.

Truth be told, L.S., that might as well be a thousand.

I've got to buy for four people. Thats it. Its taken me this long but I've finally trained those around me to accept the disappointment of not receiving a gift.
