Beowulf a combination of fantasy, animation and adventure. it was based on legendary poem about Beowulf, who send to destroy the evil creature Grendel, who is terrorizing the Scandinavian countryside. ___________
really doesnt look that good just another testerone driven bulshit war movie trying to get young males jacked up.
i saw it at the imax in 3d, amazing, the only way to see it i think. they should do all norse and celtic myths this way! blessings xxx
I know some people who's seen it, and if you know the legend of beowulf don't see it... it's way waaay too hollywood... it's an okay movie, but a horrible mutilation of the legend...
i read the poem in class this year which is why i was excited to go see it, turns out it didnt follow the poem very well, in fact what should be a "monstrous hag" is played by a naked angelina jolie who is there to sleep with the other characters overall not so great a movie some cool special effects but they should next time try to follow the real poem rather by getting ratings up with half naked women
its originally why i wanted to see it such a great film, for so many reasons. angelina jolie naked in anyway is good, be it comic, cartoon, real, 3D... any! blessings xxxx
i think almost 90% of people have the same reason as yours..they just want to watch this movie to feed their curiosity and see the effect of 3d on Angelina's body..
i agree with gingercaily which is exactly why speaking as someone who actually appreciated the literate of the poem beowulf, saw the movie as taking this famous writing and distorting it into another hollywood profit movie
i am going to read beowulf as soon as i can, i thought the story was amazing. i adore myths, and i think this one was brought to life again, its sad that the only way most people know about myths like this one is through the media. blessings xxx
It especially annoys me since I'm from Denmark hehe Sotn, you only think this is brought to life again because you haven't read the original poem... it's a disgrace... as with many hollywood "myths and legends" movies...
my BF just saw it two nights ago. he said it was worth it visually, i don't believe him, i'd rather not chance sitting through another boring movie. (like 300, which way way to lovey dovey to be entertaining in the sense it was supposed to be) i think that beowolf might be like that
Actually, you'd be very suprised on how many people just plain out aren't stupid, and don't need their history and literature spoon-fed to them by Hollywood.
