I lost my phone (which makes 5 phones K/MIA this year) and called up this ''amazing insurance company that replace/fix EVERYTHING with your phone'' as sold to me by some fat spotty **** at the desk, only to be told I can't claim, because the loss is a result of my carelessness.

The Geordie **** tried to explain it to me, but fuck me if I could understand a word she was saying, so I asked to be passed on to a Paki in India, to which I got cut off.

Seriously, where and how do I lose something, so that it's not an consequence of me being careless?

I swear to God I've only been up 3 hours and I'm jonesing to fucking stab some one in the eye.

i think its because insurance only covers when the phone breaks for no reason. if it were that easy to get a new phone, people would be losing their phone all the time.

That is retarded, but really, I had similar trouble with the insurance on my last phone. I didnt even bother taking it out with the one I have now, and this is around my fourth this year too...

The insurance industry operates as a fine art- how to deny a claim and refuse service through the artful creation of technicalities in order to justify denying a claim filed in good faith.

Any loss or damage can be construed as a result of user carelessness so the insurance is just a way of tricking customers into paying extra for something and offering nothing in return. It's a de facto license to steal.

incidentally, I lost my mind being too cautious about the order of my stamp collection.

When Katrina hit, some say I lost my mind when my stamp collection got ruined.

Of course I didn't live close to the coast. Don't believe it!

once i was mugged coming from the dentist and my phone was stolen. I had insurance on that phone, and i spent an hour on the phone arguing with the customer service people. apparently that was my fault. they almost had me in tears.

I have Sprint and I tole them I was leaning out of my truck backing it up into a dock and the phone fell ou and got ran over, they gave me a new one. Late that year the new phones battery kept dying off too quickly so I tossed it out on I-40 around Shamrock TX and they gladly replaced it.

No they don't. Pakistan is a different country from India, and Paki is short for Pakistani

here's some proof:

http://www.londonslang.com/db/p/ says:
paki - a derogatory term used to describe anyone who looks vaguely Asian even though it is an abbreviation for Pakistani. The term is offensive, especially if the person is Indian and not Pakistani. One common phrase that uses the term is "Paki shop", see below.

Wikitionary says:

Etymology

Shortened from Pakistani

Paki (plural Pakis)

(UK, Canada, offensive, racial slur) A Pakistani, or, more generally and incorrectly used, a person who is perceived to be from South Asian or the Indian Subcontinent origin which is still considered offensive.

No way! My LCD broke on mine and they told me it was from leaving it in the cold, which wasn't the case at all. I even had the 2 year extended warranty and they told me Oh well, we don't cover that.

Anyways, my insurance for my phone includes if it is lost/stolen whatev but they never told me there was a deductible. Insurance is a legal fraud.

There was no contract for the insurance. I had water damaged my almost brand new phone, thus I had to buy a new one. Phones are expensive, so this time around I opted for the insurance. I have Verizon and they don't own the insurance---they just sell it for a licensed insurance co. So, I bought the new phone & insurance....no paper worked signed. In fact, the only paper I got was my receipt for the purchase of the phone. I come in a month or so later cuz my vibe mode stopped working, and that's when I found out. Luckily, my phone was still under warranty, and they replaced it....of course with a refurbished phone. When I mentioned to the sales associate that I was never told bout the deductible, all he said was "Well, you can drop it." Pppft
Here's an idea: why not tell your customers what their purchase fully includes, eh? I can't wait till my contract is about up. I think I'm going to "lose" my phone and sell the new one on ebay for twice the deductible. Yeah, I'm going to participate in a little insurance fraud!
