I've heard people say that acid is more intense than mushrooms and that mushrooms give light and softer experiences, therefore would it be easier to cope with mushrooms as a first psychedelic as opposed to acid?

    No.

I don't want to sound like a pompous asshole, but I've read almost everything to the contrary. From many threads on the forum Bluelight (which you should check out if you're very interested in psychoactives), I've gathered that mushrooms, although shorter-lasting and more "natural", are much more emotional and fuck with your head in a more influencing way than LSD, which is much more rational and easy to get out of a bad trip. I've also heard that mushrooms seem to pull you along wherever you go in your thoughts, in part because of their body load and its effects on the mental aspect of the trip.

Once again, I'm not trying to sound like I "know everything" about LSD and shrooms, I just want you to have a good trip.

In my own expereinces I find muchrooms to be WAY more intence then acid, and my friends all feel the same way.

It's funny I used to be scared when I was in high school to try acid for the first time but I would do muchrooms and stuff...

I feel muchrooms make me personally more introverted but not necessarily in a bad way, and less able to function. I get more goblin-y and stuck in one place for large amounts of time, but sitll faced with the vast beautiful infiniteness of the universe. Acid is more spiritual for me. Makes me feel more connected and timeless.

Dose also makes a fair difference though

Acid is more potent and intense, it's just that most of the acid sold today is incredibly weak compared to the stuff that was found in the 60s, which often came in much higher doses. So it's easy to see why some people are saying that mushrooms are stronger. But even still, the effects from the two are very different, except for the more expected effects.

Cheers cheers, this isn't really getting me anywher though. I just don't know which one to try first, which one I'd find less intense and so on. I'm not familiar with the dosage, is 1/8th the same as say one tab of acid, dosage wise?

From what I've heard, an 1/8th is probably 3-4 hits worth.

Two different beasts IMO. I can't even try to compare them they're like green and yellow, both very bright and pleasurable, but... different. I like either depending on whats available but they boths haves ups and downs.

:D do them both at the same time. that is amazing. mahaha.

i like the color analogy but i would say mushrooms would be turquoise and LSD would be yellow. except if you've neither done either maybe that doesn't make any sense. and mushrooms might be more purple. ok sorry i know this doesn't make sense.

intensity depends on dose, but i personally like mushrooms more. on acid, i will run my mouth, blahblahblahblah, to make sure whoever i'm with "gets it". on mushrooms, it will take me five minutes to find the one word that i think i want to say, and three more minutes actually getting myself to say it. assuming in both cases it isn't one of those doses where it becomes nearly impossible to speak at all.

honestly if you want a "light and soft" experience, don't do psychedelics. there is no way to be prepared for your first real psychedelic experience, but the best advice i can give is this: be somewhere comfortable, where you can make noise if you want and don't have to be on guard. either have someone you COMPLETELY trust, preferably someone experienced with psychedelics, or be alone and let someone know you're going to be tripping in case you need to talk to someone. prepare yourself by getting into the mindset of complete acceptance of whatever may happen, good or bad. maybe read a few spiritual/psychedelic books, like Be Here Now (if you do read this, have it with you while you trip!! :D). most bad trips happen because you psych yourself up and make yourself afraid of having a bad trip. take a high enough dose that you won't even TRY to fight it! you don't need to eat a ten strip or seven grams of mushrooms or anything like that your first time, but don't take an especially low dose thinking it will be "easier to cope with". you have to let go, and not try to control the experience.

generally... mushrooms make me think about my own life, and LSD makes me think about life itself.

The truth? Everyone is different. We all react in our own ways, and
psychedelics, besides the common effects, are different for every
person. Every individual experience brings new insight, so that in
itself shows that every trip is different.
In my experience, magic mushrooms are much, much, MUCH more
intense than LSD, and this has nothing to do with dose amount or
    quality.
Just a few weeks ago I ate 8 hits of LSD that a friend of mine
previously ate about 2-3 with me, and the trip was only barely more
intense. Acid never got me to the point of crying for my own life
out of fear that I was dying. Not ego death, not merging into Oneness,
Im talking actual fear that I was poisoned and about to physicall die.
Mushrooms have brought me face to face with God, brought me back
in time, brought me forward in time, and brought me to a position that
time spiralled right out of my head and into non-existance, and somehow,
that was more painful than any physical injury I've ever had.
Then theres the people who just laugh off an eight of shrooms and
seem to be just high, but cant sit still when on Acid.
I've eaten eights that were more profoundly spiritual than an ounce, and
even my trips on an eighth have affected me in a much deeper level
than LSD. LSD only scratches the surface of divinity for me, opening up
the first veil. Mushrooms blow me into heaven

Mushrooms can leave you disabled for a while. But then, they can make you laugh and feel like a marshmallow. The effects are really variable. They are for me, anyway.

LSD is more visual. The electric kaleidoscope is always beautiful, but LSD also seems to more invisibly warp reality. So, you are a bit more lucid in your twisted perception. It was much more psychologically profound for me.

Through my experiences, LSD has been more intense than mushrooms.

In my experiences, mushrooms are a much heavier mental trip and lsd is more a visual trip. LSD is still very mental however.

lsd has a higher potential for life changing experiences.

lsd leaves me feeling amazing, with a strong sence of altered thoughts, and self. re-discovery of all the fundamental basic principles of living and reality.

shroom trip doesnt do any of that.
