Hi guys. I had my first annual physical exam the other day. My uric acid level is 585.87 umol/L and my cholesterol level is 6.78 mmol/L. The doctor recommended proper diet and exercise.

I've been taking up martial arts for nearly two years and have lost several pounds, and I intend to add another exercise to my regimen. That takes care of the exercise part.

I need help with the diet part though. What foods should I avoid if I want to bring down my cholesterol and uric acid levels down?

sorry to be so late to respond, dunno if you found anything out on your own.

uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism so basically u wanna decrease your purine intake. Purines are rich in meats, esp. organ meats, seafood, and alcohol. There seems to be a relationship between animal protein intake and the uric acid produced, dairy may be ok tho.

Lower your fructose intake as well, avoid corn syrup.
