    Hi All....
I have a query i could not find an answer to on the internet.
I have been inside Canada for one month visiting with my prospective partner and must return to Australia tomorrow because i have my flight booked, and children in Australia also, but...i wish to return to Canada asap with my children under some kind of temporary visa to be with my partner, whom as i said i have been with here in Canada for one month, but only known previously for about 7 months or so.... maybe more, this is the first time we have physically met.

My query is...can i return with my children for 6 months which is the maximum stay for us, being from Australia we need no Visa for that time....and can i apply for some kind of time extension to stay in Canada longer ( before my 6 months is up)...and get a work permit also...i say temporary because my prospective partner would later like to return to Australia with me...but we are required by law to have live together for 12 months for him to migrate to Australia, which we would like to do inside Canda because it is easier for me to leave Australia at this time and stay in Caanda for 12 months or more until we can go back......

If i was to come in to Canada as a visitor and apply for longer stay whilst in Canada already, could i also get a work permit once in Canada and....can i get a one way flight for myself and the children....do i need my prospective partner to sponsor me still given that i only wanto be in Canada for a year or so???? And if did not need a sponsor to visit Canda for a year....how much money would i have to show in my bank account to suffice for a year ?

you cant get a one way flight, they wont allow it with out a visa before hand.

my friend had the same problem going from the UK to Oz... best thing to do is head to or call your Canadian Embassy, they are normally quite good when you have them on the phone to give you the answers! Good luck if you haven't made it already! :)
