Hey, what's up guys, my first post...Woot... Anyway, it's 5:45 in the morning, and I stumbled across this site an hour or so ago. I was intrigued with it so I thought I'd join. Sorry if I'm posting this question in the wrong thread or anything, I still haven't figured out these forums well. So how exactly do you roll a joint? I've always smoked out a water bong, and the times I have smoked joints, my friends had 'em pre-made, so even though I know I sound stupid asking, how is it done? Thanks.
Not a dumb question at all everyone has to learn at some point how to roll. Ill break it down into my steps that I go through to roll. Also dont expect a perfect J the first time it takes some practice. Step 1: Take out how much pot you want to roll and break it up nicely, removing any stems and seeds (if there are any). Using a grinder helps to make this process go by alot faster as well. Step 2: Get out a rolling paper and place it so the glue side is up. "How do I know which side is the glue side?" you may ask. On one edge you will see a small strip running lengthwise along the paper its usually a slightly darker color than the paper and appears glossy. This is the glue side. Step 3: The paper should have a fold at the midpoint of it if not fold it in half the long way, so the glue side is on the inside of the fold, and unfold it (think paper airplane). This should create a nice "V" shaped trough for you to put your pot in. Step 4: Take your ground up pot and evenly distribute it centered along the fold you made. Leave a little bit of space on each end of the paper because the pot will get rolled out and lengthen a bit, much like rolling out dough. Step 5: This is where it gets a bit tricky and everyone finds their own tricks to make it go smoothly. Pick up the paper with the pot in it, keeping the glue side at the back, and fold it closed. Then using both hands pinch the paper just above the pot with your index fingers and thumbs. Slide the paper up and down a little bit (paper to paper contact only) this will roll the pot a little bit and get it nice and tight at the bottom of the paper. Then slide the side of the paper that is towards you down so it is at about the same height as the level of the pot. Step 6: Roll the close edge of the paper over the pot and roll the paper up to the bottom of the glue lick the glue and stick it down. Step 7: I like to wet the paper a bit with my own saliva then hold a lighter below it but not touching the paper with the flame. Make sure to move the flame around alot and dry the joint out evenly. This kinda cures the J and makes it a bit more durable. Step 8: Enjoy Hope that helps.
After you roll it take a pen that you click the end of and use that end to pack the weed in more tightly on each side. I usually leave about a quarter inch on the side Im putting my mouth on so the roach is as small as possible. Also make sure you always twist the end your going to light so it stays even and you don't light to much at once. If it starts burning unevenly lick your finger and dab the side thats burning to fast to even it out. I actually do step 5 differently. I start rolling before I pick it up. I bend the paper over the weed and then start rolling. Then just before the glue I pick the whole thing up and try to make it alittle tighter before I seal it. Youll figure out your own way to do it, its not to hard. It took me about 5 or 6 joints before I could start rolling them perfectly. I fuck up every now and then but most of the time they look almost exaclty like a ciggarette.
yah ive been smoking daily for a year and i never learned how to roll a j. im always with a friend who can or just use my own pipe or bong if im alone. i mean i can roll a real crappy one but thats it. o well, i guess ill learn some day.
Oh I forgot there is a foolproof everybody can do it method but it takes alot longer. Grind up your pot Take out a rolling paper and roll it round a pencil and lick the glue and glue it. You should now have made a cylinder out of your paper. Get a light peice of cardboard. The little cards that come inside magazines asking you to subscribe work well. Cut a strip thats a few inches long and about a half inch tall. Roll it up into its own cylinder. Place the rolled up cardboard in the end of the paper creating almost a "Filter" in the end of it. Take your pot and take pinches of it and drop it inside the paper. The cardboard should stop the pot from going out the other side. Take the pencil you used to roll the paper around and place it inside the joint every so often as you fill it with pot to pack it down and keep it tight. Once you have put your pot in there twist the end shut light and enjoy.
I think I'll do the first one... I just read it and to tell the trueth, I never really knew how to roll a good one, mine are always shitty. But now, hopefully I'll get better and be able to make some good J's to enjoy .
Take a lump of mids, a bit of amazing dank. Mix in about 2 pinches of baccy. put it on your 1 paper. Add baccy to the tip for a nice cherry. Roll it up and pack it down. Add some more weed to top it off. Burn and get REALLY REALLY REALLY HIGH!
