Well, 2500 equals out to a smidgen over 5 dollars a gram. Depending on your area you could turn it over for 10-20 each. Chronic and Dro are just slang terms, chronic meaning just regular ass bud or good bud and Dro meaning Hydroponically grown bud.
Sorry all we have around here is schwag. So thats all I've smoked or messed with. If chronic is just regular weed why are they charging $15. - $20. a gram everywhere?
they're all just slang words and depending on the region you're in, same words can mean different things. hell, even within a given city, different groups of people may use the words slightly differently. in most cases its at least comparable, even if its not perfectly consistant chronic can mean just any pot. "lets go smoke some chronic" or it can mean particularly good pot. or it can mean a particular strain of marijuana named chronic. or it can mean its literal meaning, as in a chronic smoker (someone who smokes heavily on a regular basis for a prolonged period of time, chronic essentially meaning persistant, long term, and often problematic, like chronic diseases) "dro" is shortened from hydro, which itself is shortened from the word hydroponic. hydro is weed that is grown hydroponically, and depending on the skill and effort the grower put into the cultivation of his or her crop, hydroponically grown weed can be fucking fantastic or it can be as bad as the worst pot out there. hydroponic cultivation is cultivation in a liquid medium rather than in soil. simply put, its pot grown in water laced with nutrients the plant needs to grow. it can offer some advantages over soil grows in some cases, as i understand it, but its generally agreed that its not inherently stronger or higher quality than soil grown pot. despite all this, many people are under the impression that hydro is better than soil grown pot. many ignorant people will use the word hydro or just "dro" to refer to good pot of higher than average quality. there are a plethora of other slang words referring to different aspects of marijuana, as well, and unfortunately many of them are equally variable and come in and out of usage on a regular basis. for instance, reefer once was a marijuana cigarette, a joint, and many people still use this term to refer to a joint. but many other people now use the word reefer to talk about cannabis on the whole ("wanna smoke some reefer?") so really, "dro" and "chronic" may be different or may not. hydroponically grown pot can be some of the best or worst in the world. chronic may just mean pot, or it may mean good pot. it might mean great pot if you're lucky. chronic may also be in reference to the strain of that name, but strains also mean little if the proper care and effort hasnt been put into growing them. you can have seeds from some of the best strains in the world, but if you dont grow them right you might end up with shitty pot. dont pay attention to the slang words too much unless its really consistant in your experience and you have a bit of an idea of what to expect. instead judge the pot for yourself rather than what others say it is. does it look good? does it smell good? does it taste, smoke, and hit good? do you like the effect? if so, then you have good pot. it can vary wildly in appearance, taste, effect, and aroma, though, and still be good. but there are some things to avoid. you dont want really brown, yucky looking pot. you dont want pot that has been compressed...if the buds are flat, its likely lousy (but not a sure thing) you dont want pot with a ton of seeds. if you're paying high prices, seeds should be extremely rare. you dont want something thats too moist. if its so fresh it seems like it could have been picked the other day, someone's trying to sell in a hurry to increase their profits at your expense. several things can go wrong with moist pot: it can mold....or it can dry out and lose water weight, and if you're buying a pound than losing that water weight will be far more of a financial loss than if you just got a single eighth of some pot that was a bit too wet.... you dont want anything that smells like wet hay, and you dont want anything that smells like ammonia/piss stems aren't too bad, and neither are leaves. so long as the leaves are trimmed short and have some crystals, they're just fine to smoke, despite popular desire for meticulously manicured buds. personally i dont mind buds with a shaggy appearance, so long as its good smoke for a fair price. avoid pot with TONS of stems, but they really dont weigh that much, so dont sweat it. but if you really dont know about anything other than schwag, perhaps spending 2500 bucks on "dro" isnt the best idea.
I'm not saying I'm going to go out and spend that much on dro. I'm just trying to learn more. How much should dro cost for a lb?
not to mention the dealers pricing structure, which will likely differ based on supply and demand and location, and what kind of weights they usually deal with. consumer level dealers who are willing to sell such large qualities may charge differently than people who move multiple kilos per sale on a regular basis
So very true! Just want to add that in addition to being hydroponically grown, alot of dealers will slap a fancy name on it just to add to the price. For example, a dealer could say like, "this is some strawberry diesel that was grown hydroponically!" Being that many dealers jack up the price just for hydro buds, plus the fancy name on it, it could go for double, triple, hell even quadruple the normal price of "good-pot".
