I disagree.

What they're doing is not just discriminating against gay people and encouraging others to do the same. Holding such demonstrations at the funerals of gay people or of soldiers is quite literally saying "we approve of your death". THEY FUCKING COME TO YOUR FUNERAL TO SAY THAT THEY ARE GLAD YOU DIED. Is 11 million dollars sufficient punishment for something as monstrous as that? I think not.

No amount of dollars is enough for the kinds of filth they spew out...on the other hand they technically aren't breaking any laws so the whole lawsuit thing was premised on it being so vile and upsetting. This could be turned around by some straight hater group saying that gay pride parades make them sick or any other gay public expression makes them sick. In the hands of the right attorney and in front of the right judge gay expression could be silenced in the same way as phelps and his filth. Hopefully this will bankrupt them and they'll just dry up and die. Much more satisfying to me would be to see a group of local good old boys beat those bastards within an inch of their lives...everytime they step out to spead their disease. Its one thing to lawyer up and play a pissing contest in court...quite another to have the livin' beejesus stomped out of you....and since they are encouraging ass kickings for us I'd sure like to see the favor returned. Sigh...being a Christian myself, seeing this come from people from the same community as me makes me so sad and ashamed. I don't understand how people who listen to teachings that encourage love, understanding and community can be so judgemental and...cold. And that's not even remotely close to a good word for what describes this. It's no wonder nobody takes Christianity seriously.

I abhor violence, but someone really needs to give them all a good slap in the face.

Makes complete sense to me bubba. They are the ones who have gone out on an extreme mission to engender the hatred of not just gay folks but most of the nation. This isn't about their beliefs or religion, its about their pathology. They are seriosly mentally unbalenced, they will say or do anything to draw attention to themselves. They are so cruel and callous they show up at the time of a families most difficult moments, honoring a dead child, and turn that time in to a circus of attention for themselves. These a vicious little people concerned only about masturbating their pathetic little egos. Hate 'em? well yeah, pretty much I do. Maybe more for their disregard of parents who are burying their children than for what they say about us as gay people. Their comments toward gays are so completely over the top that they are a joke. BUT to ruin the last few moments a family has while honoring a dead child...NO MERCY, NO FORGIVENESS.
