You guys! I was at this workshop yesterday and it was so wonderful and empowering! And I met up with this guy again who is trying to start this anarcist circus type thing to go with this alternative marching band that is going to play at demonstrations and stuff! And We are actually goingg to start havingg circus meetings and practices soon! This is like one of my dreams! I will finally have some sort of group to do contact juggling, fire spinning, stilting, political theatre, and culture jamming and there's lots of other sweet things I could learn, and we can all skill share and stuff! yay! I'm so excited to have some platform to perform- and with social consciousness too! joy! Just got excited and needed to share...
awesome!!! i almost ran away with the circus a year ago, i met one of the animal trainers and he said they were looking for extra help to go with them, i almost quit everything and started a new life as a circus folk, i did follow a carnival around abit of saskatchewan till it went to alberta and then i headed home, carnies are awesome they just get drunk and stoned and run the rides, nothing is better than boxing the haunted house ride right before the fair opens, adds the smoke to make the ride alil scarier for the kids, haha, except you get the few adults who know what the smell is and try to complain
That sounds extremely badass. I would love to do something like that. I can hippie tightrope on a rope between trees, do some poi, balance objects, and make stuff bounce a lot with my hands while doing tricks and stuff without it falling But man, that's truly awesome.
yeah helped run some rides and helped run some of the crooked games haha, some of the games are impossible to win, literally no possible way, i felt bad when ppl came to some of the ringtosses for the good prizes
