This depends...The Elders in my Native community have shared that the crow or raven are messengers...the crow may present itself through dreams, close encounters or talking to you on the street to warn you, inform you or to mock you. I say mock you, because in my community they are tricksters - they are your inner conscious and you may be overlooking something it sees, and it will present itself to "joke" with you to help bring light to what you are choosing not to see. But when I talk to Elders from other communities - they are warnings and are feared. NObody in those communities want to have a close encounter or dream of a crow. Throughout the world there are many different ideas on the crow, and it really depends on your own beliefs, and how you value the crow and what it means to you. I have had many close encounters and feel very connected with the crow, I understand it's words and meanings when it's around me - it's a personal interaction. When I share my encounters with people from other communities, they look at the interactions much differently than I do. An Elder shared with me that our interactions with other spirits, including animals and birds are personal and only by looking within oneself the communication/interactions will become clear. If you had an interaction, even through dreams, think of what the crow is to you..think of it's behaviours, how it makes you feel, what you felt when you saw it..etc.. I suggest studying it in it's natural habitat - you may understand what the crow means then. Hope this helps some..
crows can talk , y'know , as like a parrot in a human' creaky voice . you may notice at times that all the crows from around gather in one tree . one time i heard them all chattering together in that human-like creaky way . in norway they call the gathering a kroket'eeng - the congress of the crows . personally . i'll follow a crow or raven when i'm lost and needing to find a good campsite ... um.. a nest . now that i think of it , it's about that time for me to get lost again . tis the end of the harvest and afresh , the winter camping season is at hand . snowed today . a white eagle day .
I've always heard that crows are messengers of the underworld- perhaps a message from a loved one who has passed on is trying to reach you. The crow is one of my totems, and I remember that I was down about eight months ago, and I was crying, not knowing what I was going to do next when I looked out the window, and I saw this crow fly up, land on the porch bannister, and caw once. Then it flew away. After that, the solution to my dilemma came to me, as if by magic. And all was well again.
