Plants as speakers

BBC News has a article of Plant speakers

I wonder what long use would do to the plant.

 

Yeah, I am trying to figure this out. It isn't an actual flower is it? The wording of the document makes it seem that way, but how ? lol Pretty neat though. Maybe I am just miss-interpreting the wording and the speakers are actually inside the bloom. Anyways, it'll make a neat decoration and people wont know where the flower is from

So the plant transmits the soundwaves

 

..........it is just one of those "cool" or "wow" products, there to make a buck.

 

I think what it does is send the acoustic vibrations through that plant, and makes the plant, a "speaker."
