whats your idea of deity? just one? two? a certain pantheon? countless deities? how does it work in your mind? which is your chosen deity, or just your favourite. please go into detail, i am trying to work out what form i imagine deity to be. thank you! blessings xxx
hey loelia to answer your question, i believe in god and a goddess but i believe there is also an infinite number of spirits and other mythical entities. i believe God and Goddess are similar to the yin yang symbol in Chinese philosophy - both are opposites but complement each other - and aspects of Goddess are seen in God and vice versa. water on the earth for example - water is part of Goddess as it has beauty and softness but because water is also highly powerful and sometimes ruthless, it also has aspects of God. i don't "pray" to god and goddess - but i talk to them and see them as parental figures. so i talk to them about my day, what is annoying me, ask them for advice. i believe that there is a countless amount of other entities out there - but i don't call them God or Goddess - faeries, elves, angels, and other mythical creatures i belive in and also i belive everything on the earth and universe has a spirit, a soul and so we must not kill. i used to be a catholic and i still believe some of the things i was taught from catholocism - i belive that the prophets were given the words of God. i belive in Jesus. i believe in Mary the mother of God. i belive they were sent to earth free of sin. i believe in the holy spirit. what i do not belive in is heaven/hell or the idea of satan or that there is only one God, so i do not call myself a christian. hope that helps. x
I guess you could say I am animistic and a hard polytheistic. However I do believe in a single spiritual force that interconnects everything similar to Brahma in hinduism(I think its Brahma). But the gods and goddesses have their personalities, at least the ones I worship (Irish and Germanic).
