Well basically i cant use the fucking thing at all every time i log into my user name the computer flashes the blue screen of death real quick then restarts. The thing that really sucks is my dad built the computer for me only a month ago. So you think i got a virsus or something. Or do i have defective hardware? I hope i can fix this cause if i cant im about to lose a lot of my music.
I have had this happen to my computer before. I ended up buying another hard drive and then transferred the data from the old hd.
Yes it did although I had to reinstall windows on the new drive. I connected the old drive as a secondary/slave drive and made the new drive the primary drive.
Dude i swear to god its fruity loops! that exact shit happened to 2 of my computers shortly after insatlling fruity loops on em. I thinks it was beacuse they were cracked though but yours mite be too. Was it FL4??
ok my cure: make sure ventilation is ok. to test open the cover of the tower, and point a large deskfan there. if the pc starts and works ok - overheating. my old pc wouldnt go past login screen without extra vent.
well i just went ahead and reformated it. Wish i would have waited and tried this. But i also checked the cpu temp and it looked fine.
what you suggested seems to be working but i didnt bother to take the case off i just have a deskfan blowing air around back there. I wonder why after about a month or so of use it suddenly crapped out on me hopefully once i get a bigger fan in my case the problem will be fixed. I found a program that got my music off my ipod so im pretty happy that i didnt lose much music and i dont have to spend 12 hours uploading all my cd's back onto my computer. Although i just remembered i lost photoshop and all the shit i had been creating with it and a bunch of photos too (but luckly i use myspace to back them up so i still have majority of them).
