The US government has admitted the use of waterboarding to obtain information from "terrorists." More specifically, it's the CIA who is using this "interogation technique." Congress has prohibited the use of waterboarding in the military, and the US has prosecuted other countries who have used this method in the past (WWII, etc) as war criminals.

If you haven't heard about waterboarding, google it and you might be shocked to learn that this is a torture techinque which "simulates" drowning. However, when a rag is placed over the victim's mouth and nose, their lungs begin to fill with water which IMO makes it controlled drowning. Water is poured over the face of the victims, which triggers the mammalian response, which is the reaction that all mammals have (inc humans) when their body believes it is drowning. This hieghtens the terror a person experiences during these torture sessions.

Here is a story from ABC on this and other "interogation techniques" the CIA is using today. Besides waterboarding (as it IS a recognized form of torture), do you believe that those methods are forms of torture? If so, should the CIA be allowed to continue using them? Should we hold the CIA and its leaders accountable for war crimes? I would love to hear your opinions!

They also use a fatal torture tecniuqe where they tied and blindfold the poor soul in question and throw them into a vat of ice.... where they usually die of a heartattack brought on by hypothermia..... and did you know that the government has been doing this withing the country itself... trying to pry info from refugees.... sad and disturbing

and the worst part is, it achieves nothing. people being tortured just tell the inquisitor what they want to hear. so the arguement that its for the sake of national security is redundant. just a bunch of uber nationalist psychos torturing random arabs who dont like america : P

Torture should only be reserved for convicted child molestors.

As far as interogation goes, I prefer the nice quick method, put a gun to the person's head and ask them to tell you what they know or you're going to shoot them, count to 10 and if nothing is said pull the trigger.

All these interogation tactics sicken me.
