hey. ive had my dreads nw for 5 days and have washed them twice. is that too many times in that short ammount of time. the reason i washed them was a] cuz my hair needed a wash and b] to get all the wax out. theyre ok now but very loose, specially at the ends. is this normal?? as im worried i may have screwed them up???
dont worry, they will tighten up, give it time you could spray with a sea salt, water and lemon juice combo to tighten them up a bit, but time is key.
dont worry about it, i washed my hair twice just two days after backcombing...liie you i just had to get the wax out. tbh if there still there then your ok, they would have loosened up anyway, just get some extra palm rolling done ^____^
this thread calms me... i hear of people saying they wash their dreads once a week or once a month, and i simply cannot do that.. my hair gets greasy too fast. i wash mine every 3-4 days and they seem to have loosened up but i'm rolling them and consoling myself by saying that eventually they'll look real
yh thats what i tell myself as wel to stop myself gettin piss*ed of at them lol. oh wel. ill just let them do their own thing and HOPEFULL theyll become to look like real dreadies soon enough. cheers for ur help guys u give me motivation to keep and look after my dreads. ill try the sea salt and lemon spray
after i washed my wax out after about a day, they were seriously about what you described. i'm at six months now and they've progrssed so much. after the wax came out, you could see a very significant difference every month. don't worry, man. all they need is time
my advice ... do your best to not think about your hair at all, dont be thinking they dont like right, just appreciate the fact that you are on your road to dreads, you dont need to do ANYTHING to them (keep them clean if you want) but your job is to forget about your hair and live life as such. good luck, we will be here to chat along the way¡
