I have read that people use it for their hair. But, what does it do to your hair whats so good about it? Just curious thanks I have a bunch of it so was just wondering if i should bust it out lol
Moisture, Keeps the frizzies down. Aloe Vera has alot of nutritional properties, most of which I would imagine cannot be absorbed by your hair, but itcertainly wouldnt hinder the dreadlocking process. And its very good for your skin! If you have new dreadies and your scalp shows and it gets sunburnt, whack some aloe vera on it and it should be A OK. Somewhat related: If you have some on your hands... watch out you dont accidentally lick your hand, or touch something your gonna put in your mouth. I tastes absolutely feral. I have to disagree with only using it from the plant however. Aloe vera is only really worthwile provided the plant is about a year or older. Using it from an unmature plant wont do anything. And the stuff you buy from the shops is often (but not always) exactly the same as the one you can grow in your garden, only its a rip off....
If it's from the bottle just make sure it's at least 99% pure aloe vera gel (not the bright green stuff) some uses for dreads: controls frizzies moisturizes/conditions helps control dandruff eases itchy/irritated scalp wax alternative
Yeah, it's not the best of tastes but the lady at the health food store told me that a tablespoon of it is really good for an upset stomach. Not sure if I'll ever test that theory out.
I have heard this too, that aloe juice is the best thing for a chronic stomach issue. They sell a drinkable aloe juice in some international stores, it is apparently popular in Japan - and the aloe drink is quite tasty, not sure if it's just diluted and sweetened or what.
sweet thanks for all the info this is the aloe vera gel i have http://www.bananaboat.com/products/10007.aspx?cat=6&curBrowseBy=Usage lol probably not the good kind oh well
