You all who belive in faith are not testing your ability of your true nature. In life your told to find answers and test things you dont know. In christian religion your told to belive in faith. You cant test faith cause that would be contesting fate in a way that would be competing against god. So therefor why is that you belive in faith instead of find answers that make since.Cause god sure as hell dont make since.Besise evolution makes all the more meaning. For those who all think they didnt evolve look how primitive we are.If you were given a hammer to demolish something such as a dresser.at liest 60% of us are gonna run at that dresser five feet a way at a speed thats unthinkable wacking at that mutherfucker till it doesnt stand. The other 40% are the monkeys that adapted to water and were the ones that created atlantis cause apperantly they was slightly smarter.lol
http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/1th/5.html 1 Thessalonians 5 5:21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (they're using the older meaning of the word prove, to test.) and, honestly, atlantis ranks a little lower than god in terms of maybe being real.
great a fucking christain replied to what i said.this post was for people who would see what im saying
for what it's worth i'm an athiest.... but, what you said was the christian faith discoraged discovery and critical thinking. i just pointed out a part of their literature that exhorts them to do the exact opposite. and every religious person i've met have tested their faith... so, yeah, you're wrong.
Smart Christians don't oppose evolution. The Catholic Church doesn't oppose it even. The bbile is NOT a scientific document. wtf?
I guess I defy the laws of Christianity. I am of [rusty] Christian faith but sure as hell do question everything around me logically and philosophically, I question God but like an atheist I realize there is no way to prove He does not exist and stand by that much (as to why I logically choose to continue to believe). I believe miracles usually have a scientific reason to them, aswell. Anything that is mysterious to me I would generally like a logical explanation for it, but if it was truly God's work so be it. I guess my advice to you is to not generalize Christian people. Even I would say some people take their faith to too far of an extent, rubbing it upon people and telling non believers that they will be burning in Hell someday. If I wasn't Christian, being approached like that wouldn't make me conform, it'd make me probably dislike the guy. Sure, evolution is pretty logical, but why should I have to believe either side or even be persuaded to believe either side of the story if there is no definitive proof that it has actually worked either way? Here's something we can all agree upon however it alters the theory a little bit. God put apes on the earth and they evolved into humans over millions of years. Just kidding. There's a lot of things that have no explaining and they will always be: How did we get here? What is time if it never starts or ends and how is the time we are in now even existing? What happens when we die? Christians just have the answers based upon their religion. Atheists have theories with no definitive or 100% concrete evidence. And what's the fun in believing our world is but a black void when we die, or hoping for reincarnation.. especially on an earth that may just seize existing one day. There is my two cents. I can elaborate further if needed.
i dont understand what do you mean poorly written.?the thing with the hammer and demolition was in joke.but what i ment by posting what i did. But most christans that i have met dont analyize the bible they stricktly belive in the belive in the bible.and i dont understand faith. i was just stating that in life your told to test your knowledege but faith doest mean testing. i wasnt saying that no body dont test.but the bible expects you to belive in faith.so i was mainly complaining about the contents of that book im sorry
Some spelling and grammar problems in your original post may have caused confusion, but I think you brought up a good point. You and I are from the Bible Belt, where most Christians are Bible believing fundamentalists who take the Good Book literally and don't do much thinking for themselves. Back in the early days of the church, Tertulian (later declared a heretic) said he believed "because it is absurd." To me, that's the equivalent of saying "I'm a dumbass and I'm proud of it." Christianity doesn't have to be that way. From St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas to Tillich and Tielhard de chardin, there's a long tradition of thinking Christians. There are Christian scientists today who can reconcile their faith with evolution.
im not good at speeling..i dont really belive in it because i spell things i belive they should be spelled.but most of the times i try to correct my self..that or i just hit the wrong key.but im glad someone agress cause i wasnt being ignorant by posting
You will find that unless you agree to the same rules of grammer as others, you will make it difficult to communicate with others who have. I can can understand if you have some form of disability which prevents proper useage, but to do so willingly could be considered a form of laziness. Neatness counts. x
i have faith in god, because science cannot find an answer. i use, and find science for things it can answer. so go away.
find your own answers.why belive a book thats been rewritten and translated by people who arent even native to that country.hmmidk
