Hi, I'm Brian Love. I'm organizing a hike on the Florida Trail into the Ocala Regionals during Jan 2008.

    Here are my links:

So I was wondering, what would other Rainbows like us to accomplish. The focus of this hike is to come up with methods to resolve common issues of the Family.

I'd like to get as much input as possible in the next few weeks. What questions and issues should we seek to resolve?

    Thanx alot,

Well what were your issues you had with FAMILY to start this? Surely there was at least one to Come up with this idea.

I really don't hold any grudges. I have had a vision of a Rainbow Trail for several years now and tried to come up with a way that it would be functional for the overall improvement and uplifting of the family.

National gatherings are quite large so there are issues that arrise. There may be better ways of notifying people of LEOs than 6-Up. Shanti Sena is not called when necessary. Maybe alot of people (newcomers especially) don't know about this idea. I remember Ohming circles when people were in trouble and have seen this for years. I've even called Shanti Sena when a situation I stumbled upon got awry and nobody came that heard my call.

New comers need to be welcomed better and taught the many ways. There used to be a much stronger Welcome Home years back. Part of the hike will involve learning from elder(s). Ways that have been forgotten need to be brought back or modified for the present day. If we have any idea of what other people, asides from those joining us, are interested on us to concentrate, the Rainbow Trail would be much more productive. If people start a dialog with ideas for our improvement this is also very welcome.

    Have a great day,

i remember one night at my first gathering in VT last year around the main circle...... drums were deep and raging and folks was a'dancin' round the fire and some folks were answers the howls and grunts of this one bro on the opposite side of the circle. a very organic and energitic evening. and then, as if without anyone prompting, an elder mama that had been a'shikin her rattle and feathers, began a dialog as the drums were falling off and other elders began to speak in turn and we were all so blessed to have been able to just sit and listen. after hearing their wisdom, some of us asked questions or just spoke our hearts and anyone who wanted to share their thoughts had a moment to do so.

and then i came to Ocala and found an empty bag of coke around main circle amongst the gutter punks from holding camp. ya know, the ones who brought the crystal meth paper hits and gave it away to family that wanted to trip. remember the brother who ate a bunch of that DOC and fell into the main fire?

i would like to see a huge contrast next year in regards to elders at main circle. we need them there to help keep the energy and the spirit right. maybe if we'd had more elders near the center of the gathering, we wouldn't have had a need for three hundred people to get in line to put out a fire! i spent a week with monkey village, close to main circle and about 150 yards from where the fire started. before that, i was with south gate folks. i was very impressed with the spirit down there, although we DID have a couple of moments. but, my point about south gate is that we had a decent amount of alcohol present and even elders were sipping beers or wine but, the vast majority of the folks drinking were very nice and good nature and stayed that way, inspite of the number of drinks they'd had. now, i know this isn't supposed to be at a gathering but, we still managed to keep things nice and i don't know what my point is beyond that. i'm not even much of a drinker myself.

maybe my point is that we need to reach out to A Campers a little more effectively. it's deffinately NOT my favorite place to be and it can be a dangerous place but, perhaps we could have a group that attends to A Camp matters or just goes down there to bring our love to those that are drowning in booze. maybe it'll help them. maybe we won't have another vehicle being driven more than halfway up to main circle.

i'll keep thinking about somethings. i hope these thought have helped in the focusing.

    i love my family!
