why is it so hard to live just for fun and happiness nowadays?

Why? We all could die tomorrow and nothing else would matter but our previous existence, the times we had here in our lives, and our extinction. So with all this said, why not just live for and in the current moment and have as much fun as you possibly can, enjoying every minute you have on this planet?

 

We take everything seriously, not that is a bad thing. But you do also need to work to accomplish certain standards o fliving, and most people have a standard of living in mind for themselves.

 

Why does everyone take everything so seriously??

 

Our lives are all we know

 

because we're grown ups and have responsibilities to attend to, lik making sure our children are able to live for fun and happiness before they become parents? you gotta have a balance. you can't be happy 100% of the time. that's unnatural.

 

Because as much as we all could die for tomorrow, odds are most of us will still be kicking. Which means it'd probably be a good idea to have some money in the bank, a place to live, and food in the cupboard.

 

we don't know our lives, we know of what people tell us our lives should be. And if we know indefinitely that our lives will eventually end, and erase all of our hard work and make it all meaningless, why don't we live a life of (more) enjoyment instead of being so negative and serious about things? Especially things that will eventually mean absolutely nothing the moment we pass away?

 

Its good and all to question this, but live the way you want, and let others live the way they want. Infinite routes to happiness

 

it's really not that easy. It's easy in theory. But a lot of time you have to get through pain to get to happiness. And pain makes people think about life more seriously.

 

It is good to question this stuff. Is it possible to live a life on the bare minimum and still be totally happy do you think? Or is life based on the money you make and consequently the fun you have with that money? Does money equate to happiness?

 

Oh and also its not hard "nowadays". Humans have always worked hard for their lives.

 

You must be in balance. If your life is all fun and games, that means someone else is picking up the check.

 

nope. it does, however, equate to some really fun classes for your kids, art supplies, a place to live and food to eat. but being filthy rich seems to be more a detriment than a help.

 

Life's definitely become more advanced and less simple. Has it also become less fulfilling in terms of happiness as it's progressed?

 

No era in human history was a bowl of cherries. If anything the potential for "happiness" is better than ever.

 

It is easy to enjoy, just do not take things too seriously, especially not yourself.

 

"the good old days" are a massive self-delusion.

 

How is it easier?

 

What does it matter if it is easier or harder than sometime you arent experiencing now. Enjoy the ride. Make the most of NOW. What exists now is your own creation anyway
