Hey all, Does anyone know of specific shows (like 3.19.03) where there's this magical audience/Phish moment? For example, at certain shows during certain songs, Phish would reach a point in the jam or hit a stride that just connected with the audience somehow and you can tell by how the applause builds during the jam. Can anyone direct me to some of these synergy moments?
check out 12/11/99 there are moments all over that show, where the crowd is just erupting and i wish i could see why....
That's like the 3.17.03 show (the last show of the spring tour). There's a point where the audience is in a frenzy and it's because of the glowstick war that even Trey acknowledged as being one of the most amazing sights he'd seen.
8.5.98 i believe....they play "Terrapin Station" and the crowd starts to cheer...then as more and more people actually start to realize the insanity of the moment...the crowd starts going nuts and does not stop cheering for over a minute....its beautiful!!!!!!
Find a Byrd's 'Turn Turn Turn' tease and you really have an egg. Imagine being a noob in attendance and suddenly the whole audience turns around and faces the back of the venue. (Slightly diff. audience moment than is being requested)
Harry Hood from the Great Went has an amazing peak where the audience goes crazy. and right before it releases, you can hear somebody go "whoo hoo!" at the exact moment where it makes you feel the greatest. ah man, i think i have to go listen to that right now... every time I do, i´m glowing; happy as shit. i still regard the first time i heard this recording (wasnt there.... damnit) as the highest point I´ve ever reached from listening to a CD. it´s pure exstacy. and if you can really achieve that through music, then you know it´s gotta be good
I used to have that show on tape year's ago. Wasn't that the anniversary of Jerry's death? And yes, the audience reaction that builds and builds is indeed beautiful. Thanks for the reminder.
