is it essential to your diet? or is it that slimy nasty bean curd you wouldnt touch with a ten foot pole(roughly 3 meters for my canadian friends)?

im almost gagging thinking about the taste and the texture right now, so nay...

I like tofu, but only in moderation. It's a good source of protein, btw...

And it's all about how it's cooked...or, should I say, marinated...

I don't consider soy to be a health food, so I don't eat it. Not that I eat only health food, because I eat some not-so-healthy foods, too. I just find no reason to eat soy, neither for the taste nor any other reason.

I fry it up with pasta sauce and peppers and whatever other veggies I have laying around. Then I put it with my pasta. SO good.

It can be alright if made well. It's bland. I rarely eat it but sometimes it's okay.

Even being a vegetarian for three years, I never tried it. I never really had much of a desire to, not to mention, I'd have to drive an hour just to find any.

i think it's over rated. i've heard that all soyproducts mostly pretty much are. once upon a time, twenty years ago or so, i was, as were many people, under the mistaken impression they were supposed to be somekind of health myrical. turns out not so.

no strong feelings one way or the other about it otherwise, except i'm not generally an enthusist of anythng fryed, and unless you singe it someone first, it just desolves and becomes a kind of thickening for any kind of broth it's added to.

i guess it's supposed to supply one of the factors of protien you need to replace meat with if you're a nonmeateater. although i think between p-nut butter and other nuts, avacadoes and shrooms, and of course cheeses, if everyone got a balance of all of those it might do just as good if not better.

i don't know. i'm not an expert on meatless diets. i only know that you need more then one source of meatless protean.
