So, who knows their shit when it comes to shrooms?

hey guys. i know there is a shroom section, but i want to trip tonight, and i know a lot of you guys (nesta, wonka etc... if ur on here i could use your help lol) eat shrooms and know your shit when it comes to shrooms. so i figured id get a response here quicker, thats all.

anyways, just picked up an 1/8th of some fungus. i am a little concerned, because one of the caps has what looks like very very dark white gills, they actually look almost like a light brownish color...

i know some mushrooms with white gills are known to be dead, so im a little worried.

please note that i got these from a reputable source, a close friend of mine for like 10 years. ive been buying mushrooms from him for 2 years, on and off, and they have always been good shrooms.

now there are maybe 2 or 3 caps in this 8th where the gills are a white-ish color... not like paper-white, but a very faded, almost brownish type of white. the rest of the caps all have dark brown/black gills (which are the exact same type ive bought from him in the past).

since the gills arent a very pronounced white color, i am wondering if they may have lost some of their color during the drying process, and thus turned into a really faded brownish-white? basically, is there any step in the growing process that may have been fucked up, which could lead to the discoloration of the gills? all of the mushrooms share the same characteristics except the off-colored gills on a couple caps, which leads me to believe that these were just grown poorly. and all the rest of the characteristics match psilocybe cubensis verbatim, and look just like any other dried cubie ive ever eaten....


if anyone has any input that would be helpful, and extremely appreciated.

(note: i would take pics but all i have is my phone, and the camera sucks balls. so the pics are gonna be blurry, but if they would still be helpful, ill go ahead and put some up)

Do you know the exact specie and do you have a picture of them perhaps?
Your description sounds to me like they are completely normal and actually quite good, they make me think of mexican or Thai Gold, but ofcourse I can never be sure...
Tell me, are they blue or green on some parts/inside, like if the juice of the mushroom is in that color?

i think the brighter ones were less mature than the other ones when they were picked. if your friends with him and have bought from him for that long than he probably wouldnt sell you bad mushrooms

 

okay so heres a pic.

i know the quality is shit but in this picture, all the mushrooms are facing gills up, toward the camera.

the dark ass one in the middle, and the one above it, resemble like 95% of the caps in this 1/8th.

the two caps with the lighter gills are on the left and right....

thoughts?

im like 99% sure they are the same mushrooms ive always got from him, just grown by someone who was kinda careless, and as a result the mushies came out kinda fucked up looking.

just wanted some input; you never can be too sure, ya know?
