my apologies if the other thread which i just spend like 15 fucking minutes making is already posted... for some reason, its not showing up, so im gonna post again, because i want to trip in about an hour or so. so.... just got an 1/8th of some fungus. it came from a reputable dealer, and his shrooms have always been good, in the 2 years or so ive been buying from him. but anyways, there are like 3 caps in this 1/8th that have dirty-white colored gills. the gills are almost more like a light brown. all the other caps have a very dark brown/black gills, except those three... they certainly look like they are all the same type of mushroom though, lightish brown on the top of the cap, dark gills, hollow stems... basically these mushrooms look exactly like every other cubies i have ever purchased, except for those three caps with the off-color gills. could this be caused by a mistake in the growing process? maybe dried too long, or not long enough? basically, if the grower fucked up, is there a chance the gills might be a little discolored on some? these mushrooms were quite obviously grown poorly, so im thinking its just the lack of effort which caused the gills to come out a slightly different color on some. any thoughts, or advice? (note: i can take pics, but it will be with my phone, so they will be a little blurry, at best. still, if pics would help, ill get some up ASAP.) thanks
I posted: Mate, Do you know the exact specie and do you have a picture of them perhaps? Your description sounds to me like they are completely normal and actually quite good, they make me think of mexican or Thai Gold, but ofcourse I can never be sure... Tell me, are they blue or green on some parts/inside, like if the juice of the mushroom is in that color? Let me know Peace!
okay thanks for the advice man! i still cant see this thread, or my other thread for some reason, so ill just keep refreshing this page. anyways, i dont know the exact species. these mushrooms are dried of course, so i dont know what color the juice is... on parts of the stems, there are some blue marks though, which ive seen with all other cubensis ive had in the past. the gills in question are def a gray/light brown color... while the rest of the gills are a darker brown, or almost black. the tops of the caps all look identical though, as does the stems and overall structure of the mushrooms. i will take a pic with my cell phone, but like i said, its not going to be really clear. thanks for your help thus far
okay so heres a pic. i know the quality is shit but in this picture, all the mushrooms are facing gills up, toward the camera. the dark ass one in the middle, and the one above it, resemble like 95% of the caps in this 1/8th. the two caps with the lighter gills are on the left and right.... thoughts?
