How do you pick a partner (inspired by WarmHandedCanadian's post)

Logic and love do not go well together. I rather let myself fall in love and be happy at the moment than to worry about the logic of it all.

 

You can be happy even if u rely on logic....

 

Yes ofcourse, but love is more than logic for me. When you are in love, logic has no place. When you are comfortable and settled with your love for another person, that is where logic kicks in I suppose.

 

man, you can't pick someone you're going to grow well with without a logic. so many people ignore the fact that down the line, there's going to have to be some sort of compromise, a realistic examining of your individual dreams and desires, what you need out of life and a relationship. but if you go happily skipping along, never evaulating these things, you end up breaking up, throwing in the towel and wasting a lot of time that could have gone into developing a better life with someone better suited to yourself. people need to THINK more.

 

I tend to follow my heart on these matter too KC. My mind plays tricks on me.

Although I do agree that you do need to look for a partner with similar expectations as you. If two people just enjoy each others company, and one wants to have a nice house in the suburbs, and the other wants to be a crack addict, things aren't going to work out.

But two crackheads can be together forever.

I am still young , so I can have fun with all sorts of guys...
But when I ll want sth more serious, I ll look for someone with the same background, same ambitions and same goals...and I dont think I could really love someone way too different than me. Maybe I could love , but love, unfortunately, isnt always enough.

I appologize about the judging, you are right I dont know anything about you. I still think it's sad to think like that, but that's just my opinion, not like is a fact or anything.
I do believe that people have more than one soulmate and it has to do a lot with timing how these souls unite, I personally like the idea of we all being soulmates is just a matter to who you open your soul too.

I do agree that the world is one and we just have an illusion of separation from one another and this is what causes unhappiness, I have actually talked a lot about this and is something I firmly believe. Although I think there's a difference between loving and being in love.

 

But it would be more fun if we were in the same place...

 

Love is love. Being in love is the separation. Love is the wholeness of all.
