Hey guys, I'm pretty new to smoking marijuana. I usually smoke out of a pipe a friend gave me but I want to work on learning to roll joints better. Where can I buy rolling papers? Do they keep them behind the counter with the ciggarettes in gas stations or do I need to go to a convenience store or something? Stupid questions I bet but help is much appreciated. Thanks.
it depends. Most 7-11 type stores carry them, head shops will always have them, many tobacconists will stock, and some gas stations have them some don't. Only way is to ask, but yes they will be back behind the counter often in sight. I think even at dirt cheap they're behind the counter
Just know that joints waste weed (in my opinion) but they do the job. Just buy 1 pack of rolling papers, which will cost you nothing really (some stores that give you free matches when you buy cigs will sometimes give you free papers if you ask). I would suggest getting a roller, but it is not necessary.
when rolling, keep in mind that you are actually ROLLING it. not folding or anything else. work the weed into a "tube-shape" with the paper itself (dont try to roll too much - leave some room to be able to grab the paper), sliding the paper against itself, up and down. this will help to make it more uniform and easier to roll. then tuck in one side - left or right, whichever your preference - begin to roll tightly. forget about the other, open end. if some weed falls out, let it fall out. as you tuck in the one side and start to roll, the rest of the paper will follow. use your other hand to help guide the paper into itself and roll it. then lick and seal, licking the joint again to "glue" any spots down that didnt stick at first. i usually let it dry for a little bit before smoking, so it stays shut. i also like to pack the open end down with something, twist the end shut, then hold it upright with the filter end down (i always use a paper filter) and let it fall repeatedly on a hard surface. this will pack it down even further. keep on twisting the end and packing it down. this will help to avoid "running/canoeing" where one side burns faster than the other. you can even twist the end tight enough to make it flat, making the edges sharp (like a square edge). lightly kiss a flame to this edge so it turns brown/slightly burns. you dont want to burn the weed, just that part of the paper. do this all the way around the tip of the joint and you can "pop" off the twisted part, leaving you with a nice, tight, flat-ended joint to light. if it starts burning even, it´ll likely continue to burn even. looks kinda like a manufactured cigarette... basically a nicely-rolled joint. man, rolling is fun. enjoy it!
