    people were one in Monterey

I said woodstock before but I watched both movies again and I'm switching to monterrey.

Anything with The Who and Hendrix's performance their must be he best. And Jefferson Airplane at woodstock was nothing to write home about

Despite my age, I wasn't at either festival. Woodstock, in my mind, attained legendary status. I wished, so badly, that I had been there. But, as books came out about "what REALLY happened" there, that myth began to perish. It was badly overcrowded, with raw sewage running down the hill, no food, little water, and bad dope. The promoters had NO CLUE how many people were gonna be there. Only Wavey Gravey, and the Hog Farm had an idea, and they did more with $1100.00 worth of organic food than anybody else could've ( they fed thousands with their raisen and nut granola ) . The musical acts, particularly the Who and the Grateful Dead, the only two bands to get paid, were less-than-stellar. As a sociological event, it was, perhaps, the greatest one of the last century.
It's correct that Monterey set the pace, though. It was the first time that the audience saw how many kindred spirits were out there. And, if one can believe what one reads, Hendrix set fire to his guitar to mimick the Who, destroying their equipment.
