I just saw him at Camp Bisco and he fucking rocked! He mixed "strawberry fields" with heady DnB and I think I melted.
Yeah hes definitely not bad at all. I prefer Ooah, Vibesquad, Sporque, Glitch Mob or a handful of others though. Lorin (bassnectar) does have some real sick stuff, but at the same time he plays a few tracks i dont really care for (hip hop in particular lol...sorry). Dude if you like Bassnectar, you should give Vibesquad a listen (aaron holstein from the band Zilla). I saw him a few weeks back and i thought he was a lot better than Bassnectar in my ears. Hes similar but dirtier, gooier, sicker and crunchier. check out his myspace. Just search for "vibesquad". swivel is a great song on that site.
Bassnectar has great Bass and O.K.....beats.....but i love bassnectar nobody flows to that bass like he does.....and his enthusiasm is contagous.... But you wanna hear sick sick sick beats then listen to some Prefuse 73....or Telefon Tel Aviv... they throw down great beats.... but as always music is much greater than these two.....but both of them have it nailed down to a science

Lorin does piece together some sick beats. First track I ever heard was "Inaugural Day Beatdown" and I was instantly hooked. Love and Light, Monk
edIT has an awesome album that came out a short while back (certified air raid material) which is an excellent choice for people who are still starting to scatch the surface of this style of music. It is a damn fine album from start to finish. I just found this new group called Skeetaz that is my all time favorite at the moment though. If you like bassnectar (or anything similar), do yourself a favor and buy Skeetaz's newest album entitled "Off"...it will be the best 10-15 bucks youve ever spent lol
