So I just got my first glass bowl, and tried it out last night. It was really cool watching it fill up, by I didn't use a screen, and we keep getting ash in our mouths. After every hit, I felt like my throat was burning and went into a coughing fit. Before I got the peice I'd mostly been smoking out of a can, and never had any probs like this. Also, the weed was pretty dry and burning really fast, so maybe that had something to do with it. I've also heard it might get better as some res builds up. Any help?
Yeah it probably has too big of a hole in the bottom of the bowl. But keep smoking out of it and it will fix itself.
it will get better as resin builds, but you can go to a headshop and most of 'em carry glass screens. Or you can just put in a normal screen, thats what i do, and really it doesn't affect the taste at all in my opinion. Even with the glass screens, you still get a bit of ash in your mouth, with a normal metal pipe screen, you don't get anything. Makes for a much more enjoyable bowl when your not getting shit in your mouth, every hit.
you can tell when its almost all ash in the bowl when its near the end just be carefull not to suck to hard. but after you smoke a bunch out of it most of the ash will stick to the resin inside. i hate getting that nasty stuff in my mouth or when a hot cherry chunk flys right to the back of your throat . i always just dont hit it as hard and just draw it into my mouth when its near the end of a bowl instead of hitting it normal and sucking in all the ash.
Just tried it again, WAY BETTER! I think we were just pulling too hard yesterday. And I tried leaving an orange peel in the bag for a bit first, and so it burned way more normally today.
