dunno about jumpin a train as in jumpin in front of a train but i used to always hithc a ride on the trains back in the UK... then when the transport police started crackin down on fare-dodgers i kinda stopped doin it as much - it used to be worth it for a trip up to london whn i was a kid but now i think they have the power to stop and detain anyone who gives a fake address or anything that is even slightly dodgy... it did used to make for a great way of getting home in the mornings tho, grabbing the first train outa the place, sleepin in the smokin car, hidin in the toilets whenver a guard came along.

i'd still do it if i was strapped for cash and found myself away from my lodgings, but 4 sure the british transport police have cracked down a hell of a lot.

I used to just get on the train and hide in the bathroom while they were checking tickets, and then sneak out like 10 minutes later. But i think now some places check your tickets before you get on the train?

But to answer your question i have jumped a train. the story is probably really hard to beleive. but once when i was 14 my mom kicked me out. actually more than once. but this particular time i was hanging out with this group of grungy punk kids at walmart. i grew up with those kids. a couple of them were homeless and a couple of them were runaways. we got the brilliant idea to just hop a train and see where it takes us. but where it took us was worse than where we came from. it took us to bumfuck richmond. and i was on the rag, it was terrible and im actually surprised i lived through it.

My nephew used to do it, but got caught and arrested for trespassing. It was a really expensive ticket.
