job? or should i just go back to school?

i cant work at the job i started YESTERDAY, because the hours are killing me and my family on sleep. so i told them to file me, and i will be calling back later, when they have a shift that works.

ok.

i have been taking sign language classes for a long time , but i stopped because i couldnt afford tuition,. should i try again? my hub works., i dont now, were staying at my moms house, maybe i can be able to just pay for the certain classes i want.

should i wait and go back to work when they have my shift open? then we can make money now,. and move out soon.

i would imagine that starting school again would be the best option, but really, i can finish the sign language learning if i can meet a new friend thats deaf. to tutor me.

what do you think? changes NEED to be made. maybe theres something in between? what would you do in my situation?

 

i say, find that job you adore. i was ALL FOR going back to school. but know that i'm hyper excited about having one of those perfect jobs that suits me so well, fuck it. i'm excited.

 

My best advice? Keep your options open...you never know when something may fall into your lap...

 

i adore sign language, and i really would like to become an interpreter.

BUT the schooling here is HORRIBLE!!!!

2 choices,
one is not very educational, and its once a week, and it takes a billion years to finish,

the other is a very very very (did i mention very?) strict christian school where they are watching you when you go out during your own business, no drinking, no smoking. and i dont even think i can afford to go, plus they would make me take a bunch of classes about religion and bible reading, and i would have to attend chapel, and i would end up wanting to scream!!! i dont need all those classes, and im not religious, at least NOT in thier way. (no i dont hail satan)


The job im waiting on is western union, id be the operator that makes sure that your not doing fraud money sending. yay.

i need to make some changes, and i just have no idea what road to take, and i need to take one,. its time.

At the point you are at,,, working with mentally and physically challenged people at the moment. Have been for now 17 yrs. Said I`d be there for only 6 months. At the time I had just split from my husband,,,we didn`t last 4 yrs. We had two boys then 3yrs and 2yrs. I moved back to upstate new york. To live with my mom. Love her to death but we drove each other crazy and I am an independent person. After a year and a half, I moved out- she was mad at me for moving out. Couldn`t win either way.
I was a little younger than you at the time-24yrs old. well i have three boys later and 5 boys in all. Living with 2 other girls cause the idiot I was living with put some domestic charges on me cause I hit him first to keep him away from me as he was gonna whail on me some more. Had gotten tierd of it. He took me kids- the three boys we had together, this thing was just a boyfriend turned co-habitator. Anyway, with all that,,,was talking to my guy who is in Kentucky and I asked about the schools down there, He said they need teachers bad. One day I thought to myself--a reading teacher in Kentucky. Just don`t know where to go to school for it. Up here at a community college or somewhere down there in Kentucky and "wing it" In my heart, I want to got to Kentucky to go to school,,,but that is like "Hmmmm?!" cause of money, that I don`t have due to paying $800 a month child support--to support my three boys, the idiot and his ex-wife that he went back to with my kids, he was just waiting for the court and my money.
Want to be with my guy so bad and do the teacher thing till I can get it all together to get my kids back. Court has that screwed too. Another story, another time. so sitting on "what to do " myself.
If all works out around first part of Dec. I may say to hell with my job, find a way to Kentucky, as far as money to get there, and hang with my guy - bust my butt working and doing some classes somewhere down there. Don`t really know. Don`t want to leave my kids. But dam when the itch is there,,,and you are not happy, you know where your heart is and wants to be, that is how I do it "For the good or the bad" as my guy would say,,,smilin`. Need the best for my children and they are already to go to kentucky,,,Just waiting for the word to go. Even if I end up alone down there, I maybe happier than if I am up here. Don`t want to teach in new york. Want to help out the kids in Kentucky. So you need to figure what is in your heart. I had to sit with God --he`s my guide, even though he may seem silent to me at times, he has away of getting to me, even when I think I am listening to him and then I find out I really wasn`t-as well as I thought I was. So listen to your heart,,,ask your husband how he feels about it,,,he is a big part of your life. Head of household, a marriage is an important thing,,,REALLY BIG. And he needs to know how to help you as a team in all you guys do. Guys need to be included too. They love us sometimes in the weirdest ways. I don`t mean to give you marital advice, Just thinking of my guy and how with the kindness of his heart, how he would need to be in on all that effects the family-household-money big stuff for sure. But as a woman, you need you to be you too. Took awhile to get back to me, after 21yrs of a lot of unnecessary crap that I needed to learn. So I could be with the right guy as now. ugh, I`ll stop here, so follow your heart to the best you can. and keep your guy informed. Good luck will be thinking of you. i am having trouble finding lists of online classes besides accounting, or whatever, things i would hate.

i really need to figure out what i want to do!!!!!

i have been to deaf conventions, aka silent socials, and i get kinda shy around deaf ppl, because im afraid ill sign something wrong, i actually signed to some ppl that i was going to the toilet!!! i can sign great with hearing ppl!!! lol. but i get nervous conversating with the deaf, because sometimes i dont understand what theyre saying, and i have to ask them. they have to describe the word to me.

id like to meet a deaf person here. i had made friends with a really cool deaf girl in springfield, yet, i dont live there anymore and i dont even know where she lives anymore. she taught me alot of slang and cussing lol.

Here's my advice.

Don't take the most convenient path. Take whichever option you feel will make you happier, even if it's a lot more trouble.

I promise it's worth it.

 

working with the mentally/physically challenged, I have run into some that can`t hear too well and need hearing aids. They have taught me some basics on sign language. I forgot about that till just now. It is such an everyday thing for us at work, but anyway once they find out that you care about them, the people I work for, they are more than willing to help you out with what ever you need, in between some rough things that they need to work through with themselves but it is rewarding to the soul to be able to help these guys out--especailly when they have no one else to care about them as human beings.

 

yeah, i really want to finish my schooling as a sign language interpreter. theres no where to go to get hands on experience though,. i have my school books, and videos. but i need more.
