I was a bit put off by the acoustic comment, but I think what he meant was the ones who can just about nail the chords to Wonderwall and then call themselves guitarists.

Also, I didn't catch the gay bit. Guess I don't qualify after all.

Yes I thought the multi-coloured one was quite sweet really, shame it had to stay with wardrobe. I just thought of it as a bloke in a dress, didn't really see any camp, but hey how would I know. :)

Yeah reading that it does sound a bit harsh, sorry it came out wrong, i wasnt being like patronizing or anything, what i meant was the people who sing mostly but use and acoustic to back up, i.e, not serious guitar playing, i mean i love playing acoustic.

Iv never actually met a fellow gay guitarist though, they all seem to be straight dont they lol.

What guitars/styles do you guys play and where you all from? Im from south wales.

yayyyy ukulele's kick so much arse! my friend uses and electric one and we plugged it into a marshall jcm 100 watt amp head through with overdrive up full, that was fun ! not very pleasent on the ears though lol, we done it with an electric mandolin to, but used a wah pedal instead, trust me, if you value your ears, dont EVER do that !

Buy the way guys, im new here, trying to get used to these massive labyrinth of forums, bit of a headache lol, how do i get back to this thread without having to physically search for it? is it in my account options or something?

    Cheers, Rick

I know a gay guitarist his name is Rich and he lives in London. :)

Not a serious guitarist though I've played for over 20 years, mostly rythm to vocals, though I can't sing either, still I enjoy myself. :)

Yeah, you should be able to find it by using the drop down menu and selecting 'your posts'.

I only picked up a guitar for the first time two years ago, chords are about the only thing I can manage at the mo...

Generally speaking, you more than likley learned the 5 postitions of A Minor pentatonic by chance, basically, what you do with them is improvise in specific keys, like the first position for example, if you start at the 5th fret position, your playing in A minor, now if you move upand play for example,8th fret, your playing in C, keep the shape just move it up and down the neck to change keys, its really easy. Good Luck !

I tried to play electric guitar the other day. it was a fender. I found it very loud and cannot transfer the chords from the piano to the guitar:(

Where's Hank Marvin when you need him?
