Does everyone, like me, really hate driving sometimes? lets all share our pet hates about driving. Mine is tailgaiting, normally i wouldnt care if someone was right up my arse :jester: but man on the road does it play on my tits ! i mean, i get annoyed when people drive slow but i always leave them space, its common bloody courtesy mun ! especially those wanker BMW drivers who THINK they own the damn road ! GRRRRRR !!
Why do people who choose to drive below the speed limit insist other road users do the same, if your in someones way then be polite and assist their passage past you. Why do people who clog the roads by driving 10mph below the speed limit out of town then drive 10mph over the speed limit when in town, they really make me angry, selfish ignorance to the nth degree.
All motorists are annoying by definition, so it's inevitable that they will annoy each other from time to time. I was talking to a car-driving friend of mine once about how motorists all think they own the road and resent other people just being there. He replied that he feels like that all the time, whether he's in his car or not.
It annoys me when people in Britain drive cars when they dont need to When they own more than one car When they give cars to their offspring as birthday gifts When they drive daily When they drive in their car alone When they constantly talk about car insurance or their MOT or some other shit When they get angry at pedestrians When new roads are built When im always asked if i have a driving lisence and when i reply "no", a reaction of shock or disbelief ensues When they buy a new car every year or so When they do not have their old car crushed When people drive to the local shop and back in their cars And when car drivrs make LAME EXCUSES Thats all Yeah, i said it. Thsi doesnt necessarily mean the OP, and isnt necessarily EVERY driver. I mean there are special cases right. But heh, ive just woken, and im an honest soul
Ok right... tailgaters - why must they drive so darn close, I always feel the need to break! Lorry drivers who drive in the middle lane. People who drive at 50mph even in a 30mph zone People who slow down on the country road bends and spead up on the straights there fore allowing you not a chance to overtake. people who do not dip their lights when behind you. People who think that putting on they front fog lights will make them see better but they just blind everyone else! People who break when cars are coming the other way - if the road is big enough for two people then you will have enough room to pass. People who park in syupid places People who pull up next to cars to have a chat!!!!!!! (this happens a where I live!!!) And breathe!!!!!
If somebody is tailgaiting you, a quick scoosh of the windscreen washers will lift the mood, especially if there are a row of cars all tailgaiting one another. The one behind you will then have to use theirs to clean their windows and so on. My record is 4 cars in a row behind me! Im a pretty easy going car driver, if somebody does something supid I never use my horn ever and rarely flash my lights, we all make mistakes. One pet hate though is when sitting at traffic lights, and the slip lane light that you didnt notice turns to green then BEEEP. Then before you can even get the car in gear another BEEP. Some folk must always be in a real hurry.
lol my mums car is kinda broke right now so the fog lights are on when they arent supposed to be and well here i am making excuses We're gonna sell it. I think.
my parents don't drive and i am not going to learn to drive either. i think motorists in general are annoying.
I can see wheelchair users probably needing a form of private transport in the UK, along with people with certain diseases or health problems, and also businesses...Otherwise, in my eyes, this situation is black and white
Well are you saying you would go shopping without a car? Considering it takes an hour to get there (without a car) and an hour back. Not to mention carrying the foodstuffs... Or my parents getting to work every day. Half an hours drive and yes you're gonna say get a bus or go by train but we are NOT rich!! i would love to go by train when we go out but its too costly (£60! last i heard per person) and buses are unreliable. Okay now this is getting into a sort of excuses thing but at the end of the day we are not rich and it is too much to be biking and walking everywhere. It is cold now. I get colds really easily - i still walk every day to school. But unless public transport improves in this country theres not much choice from this end.
i think cyclists and pedestrians should have prioity everywhere(i.e cars should stop for them and not the other way round) this way people wouldn't feel so inclined to jump in a car.
Hehe, i DO go shopping without a car! Our local Organic Gorcery Store is about a mile and a half away (we shop all organic as a large portion of our diet is raw foods) and me and my fiancé put on our backpacks and walk up there twice a week and stock up. They used to be heavy on the way back, but now weve built up a bit more of a resistance, built muscle! And you know about my health problems, we manage this just fine... And for days when we just cant be bothered, the bus passes that way every half hour Firstly if the public transport genuinely WAS unusable or too expensive then it is my belief that the damage cars create is of such large proportions that moving house to be nearer the workplace would be necessary for the good of everybodys health and the good of this planet we call home Thankfully this is not the case, as is again proved by me and my fiancé and many of our friends. My fiancé has travelled 15 miles by train each way to and from work every day for the past 3 years and has not got the sack! He gets there on time just fine Public transport will actually work out CHEAPER than a car, when things like insurance are taken into consideration. Again as you know-i know about colds! My blood sugars been through the roof and a cold has hit me and ive been on the floor in agony. Jumping in a car would not and has never solved this. In those situations I eat well, then i get right back up again and walk on my own two legs as mother nature intended Its great you walk to school...but your last point about public transport improving...that simply WILL NOT HAPPEN if nobody is using it! Its about demand. And the anit-car argument goes way beyond any of this stuff. The extent to which we rely on these tins on wheels today is simply unhealthy. For everything As i said its nothing personal against anyone...i just happen to feel strongly about this one! Good stuff walking to school
To be honest, do you think that would put people off using their cars? And if the main argument against using cars is the pollution they cause, then getting them to stop and start agian for bikes and pedestrians would actually increase the pollution they create. Cycle lanes would be a much better and safer idea I think.
I think this is a great idea. In urban areas every junction should be a zebra crossing so that cars have to stop to let pedestrians cross, and there should be zebra crossings at regular intervals along all roads near where people live, work or shop, so pedestrians take priority over cars. Walking around our environment is difficult, dangerous and hostile in most towns and cities because of the presence of so many people encased in dangerously fast moving metal cages. We need to reverse that priority to make walking pleasant and safe, and car use far, far less convenient. The argument that causing cars to slow down causes more pollution is a bit of a silly one, pollution is not the only reason cars are so bad for the environment, it's also the fact that they destroy quality of life for anyone not in a car by making living and walking around your neighbourhood unpleasant and dangerous. If cars did have to stop every 30 seconds to let pedestrians across the road car drivers would probably choose to park away from cities and walk and use public transport like responsible people
Car drivers who don't know that when I have started to cross a road at a junction before they have pulled onto the road I have right of way to finish crossing the road in safety and they have to stop to let me do so without gesturing rudely, honking their bloody loud horns or trying to run me over... So yeah, to echo what's been said above, car drivers generally are annoying:tongue: Put the nicest person behind the wheel of a car and they instantly turn into a ****...
yeah, one guy shouted obscenities at me for presuming to cross the road, in front of his two small children who were sitting in the back seat.
to be honest, no lol. however i think it is one of those petty measures the government are much more likely to put into place. p.s cycle lanes sound a great idea but they would remain vacant alot of the time surely? we have cycle paths running alongside pavement in alot of areas, however in these areas it would be safe to ride along the pavement anyway.
