This has happened to me numerous times and at different places I have lived. Here is one last night that I can remember. I fell asleep around midnight the incident took place then I woke up and it was 12:30(early stage of sleep). My bedroom is very dark. OK so here it is, keep in mind that I am sleeping at this point. I am lying in bed(which I actually am in real life) and I am able to see everything around me as if I were awake and able to see in the dark. When I look at something it will look like I am shining a flashlight in that area. Now from my bed I am able to see the living room. When I look into the living room I dont have the flashlight vision but I can make everything out in that room faintly. After looking around the bedroom then into the living room, I look around to see if I can see a ghost because for some reason in my dream state I want to see something because I know this isnt normal. I dont believe I see anyone then I end up wanting to wake up and I do. I usually wake myself up because I have to goto the bathroom. So now I am awake and going to the bathroom and end up turning on the light to see if anyone is in the rooms and make sure that I was actually dreaming.. wierd huh... In the past the looking around part happens but i'm not always looking around for someone... When I look around in the dreams I am not moving around in them but only am able to look around from my actual position(lying down in bed view only) and it like I am looking through my own eyes at that exact moment but I am sleeping... Any thoughts on this?
Your thrid eye may be open. I have been able to "see" people I am actually speaking to while still in the dreaming state. (It freaked her out, seeing me sit up in bed, speak to her lucidly and yet tell her that I was in the middle of a dream.) Both my brother and I can carry on full conversations while fast asleep. I even once drove 65 miles to the train station, got on the commuter train, took the subway to work and be 100% fast asleep.
