I just went to one of their concerts last night. Someone had given my boyfriend tickets and neither of us had ever heard of them. But it turns out that they are pretty awesome New Orleans jazz-funk-blues. Anyone else a fan?
i love them....i have seen them for the past two years at bonnaroo....i just love their sound.....their music always makes me want to get up and dance around like a fool......which i always promptly do whenever i hear it....
Since we're horrible people, we just stood around and laughed at other people's dancing (also, we can't dance well)
Galactic is great. Did they do thier cover of Whole Lotta Love? They really do it justice, and that's saying something.

I love 'em I saw a little bit of them at bonnaroo '04 , but then went to see someone else (equaly awsome). I also saw them in NYC about 1.5 years ago. Always a great show I'm sure.
I first heard of Galactic several months ago because they performed in Japan. I'm not too familiar with their music, but what I've heard is good.
Sorry to say, but I heard that Houseman will no longer be performing with Galactic. I think they may have already played their last shows with him. The fall tour is labeled as "Galactic goes Instrumental". I read a press release that it was a mutual decision at that all parties involved are still in good terms. If I can find a copy I'll post it. I'm not sure what to think about Houseman no longer a part of Galactic. He added some cool tunes to their repertoire, but sometimes they seemed to slow the show down. I've seen them a few times in the past few years, and I always dig the instrumental numbers more than the numbers with Theryl.
I've been diggin' them for years, haven't had the opportunity to see them in the last three though which is unfortunate.
